You will report directly to our Engineering Manager, and you’ll work out of our Torrance, CA or Tempe, AZ location on a Hybrid work schedule.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and refine ECS performance models and simulations for complex air and vapor cycle systems.
- Conduct thermodynamic, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics analyses to optimize system performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build system models, libraries, and design documentation.
- Support new business proposals and translate complex data into clear technical insights.
- Analyze test results, prepare reports, and present findings to internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications
You Must Have
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Aerospace Engineering
- 6+ years of experience in mechanical, chemical, or related engineering fields, with emphasis on modeling and analysis
- Strong understanding of thermodynamic cycles, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics
- Proficiency in C++ (legacy and modern); Fortran experience a plus
- Strong coding and analytical background with a creative approach to problem-solving
- Familiarity with Visual Studio, modeling tools, and software integration
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
We Value
- Master’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or related Engineering discipline (research experience a plus)
- Experience with Agile development, Git, and GUI development (WinForms/.NET)
The annual base salary or/ hourly pay range for this position is $138,000.00 - $173,000.00. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Honeywell considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.

Mechanical Systems & Components provides a wide range of mechanical products and value-adding services to Honeywell Aerospace customers, including aircraft manufacturers and operators, and agencies of the U.S. government. The business develops and manufactures air and thermal systems, mechanical components, wheels and braking systems. It also manages and operates facilities for the Federal government. Every 5 seconds, an aircraft lands with Honeywell Wheels and brakes. The entire fleet of U.S military fighters and trainers use Honeywell Cabin Pressure Systems.
