Job Description

Honeywell is hiring a Lead Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer. As Lead Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer (SQA), your role is critical to ensuring supplier compliance with Honeywell requirements, driving product quality and supporting flawless execution of First Article Inspection (FAI), Source Inspection activities and Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP). In addition to technical responsibilities, the Lead SQE will coach and mentor team members, coordinate team activities and participate in cross-functional improvement projects. The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise, strategic thinking, with proven leadership skills to build capability within the team and deliver measurable results in supplier performance and compliance.

This role will sit in the United States (preferably on the East Coast) and work on a remote work schedule. The role will involve travel to supplier sites and Honeywell facilities as needed.

The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Connecticut, and Hawaii is $114,210 - $141,000. For Washington and most major metropolitan areas in New York & California, the annual base salary range is $114,210 - $141,000. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coach and mentor SQEs, providing guidance on FAIR reviews, audits, inspections, APQP and supplier engagement.
  • Coordinate team activities, ensuring effective workload management, priority alignment, and timely completion of deliverables.
  • Coach and train suppliers on Honeywell systems and Honeywell requirements
  • Focal point for review and approval of Supplier First Article Inspections; ensure procured product meets drawings, specifications, processes, and Purchase Order requirements.
  • Focal point for Product Release activities including performing Self Release audits and Source Inspection at Honeywell and/or supplier sites.
  • Support review of supplier systems and processes to identify risks and recommend systemic actions including but not limited to supplier APQP and PPAP deliverables
  • Participate in creation and review of PFMEA, Control Plan and other APQP deliverables.
  • Support suppliers and/or engineering to resolve concerns relating to production hardware compliance with Honeywell requirements,
  • Drive robust RCCA (Root Cause Corrective Action), QNs (Quality Notifications) and SCARS (Supplier Corrective Action Requests) processes to eliminate non-conformances
  • Drive Rapid Containment and Corrective Actions on Supplier Caused Customer Escapes (SCCE)
  • Support, plan, deploy and monitor Supplier initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with the Quality Management System (QMS) policies and procedures. Support supplier, internal and regulatory audits as required.
  • Lead and contribute to continuous improvement efforts related to SQE organization processes, Quality Measures, Productivity, Escapes, and supplier FAI First Pass Yields

Qualifications

YOU MUST HAVE:

  • 7+ years of experience in Quality, Engineering, or manufacturing
  • 3+ years of demonstrated leadership (team lead or mentoring role)
  • 3+ years of experience working with suppliers or in a manufacturing environment
  • United States Citizenship due to government contracts (unless supporting regions outside US)
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or technical discipline
  • Strong knowledge of GD&T and inspection techniques
  • Ability to meet physical requirements (vision test, lift to 20 lbs, walking/standing for extended periods)

  • Experience in the manufacture of aerospace mechanical and/or electronics products preferred
  • IPC610, IPC620
  • Proficient at Microsoft Office Suite applications and SAP
  • Technical knowledge of castings or Circuit-Card Assemblies (Depends on location and assignments)
  • Lean Manufacturing knowledge
