We have a fantastic opportunity for an IT Technician in Townsville, North Queensland. The purpose of the role is to service customer sites with a focus on maintaining high level hardware/software and network assets including network switches, routers, time servers, servers, RAID systems, workstations, EBI, DVM, VMD, Biometrics, IP Intercoms, IP Cameras, NVR’s, DAR’s and DVR’s on QCS sites, to maximise customer satisfaction and minimise customer site downtime by providing exceptional technical support.

Responsibilities

  • Service and maintenance of Honeywell and third-party equipment (as per trade expertise.
  • Day to day servicing, calibrations and maintenance
  • Configuration of Security systems hardware and software
  • Diagnoses Fault and repairs on Security Head end systems
  • Software load and Configuration of EBI / DVM Systems.
  • Small to Medium project installations including managing Subcontractors.
  • Estimates materials costs and quantities and ordering parts
  • Ensuring customer satisfaction through direct liaison with client representatives, customers and service recipients
  • Development and maintenance of site-specific documentation and quality assurance information as instructed by Team Leader
  • Achievement, measurement and reporting of performance indicators and site service objectives
  • Availability for and performance of duties outside of normal working hours as per agreed rosters and as directed
  • Ensuring delivery of value to Honeywell clients and customers
  • Reporting near misses, incidents and other opportunities for improvement
  • Carry out hazard risk assessments (JSA) for all tasks as per company policy and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as Service Technician customer facing and/or similar related.
  • Strong understanding of computer networking and I.T related processes.
  • Intermediate verbal and written communication, including strong negotiation and influencing skills for all stakeholders internal and external
  • Security Installer and Consultant Licence advantageous
  • Restricted Electrical license – advantageous.
  • Valid driver’s licence.
