Engineering Manager – Motor Controllers
We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to join our team and lead the Motor Controllers department. As an Engineering Manager, you will be accountable for managing the technical development of leading-edge motor controller products for the Aerospace industry including the Urban Air Mobility market, Air Transport applications and Defense products. In this role, technical vision and collaboration with cross-functional teams, including other Honeywell Aero Strategic Business Units, will be essential to your success.
You will report directly to our Sr. Director of Engineering, Motion Control Systems within the Control Systems (CS) Strategic Business Unit (SBU) and work out of our Torrance, California location on a hybrid work schedule.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage and Develop a team of motor controller design engineers including electrical hardware, software and test skillsets.
- Manage motor controller technical development process definition, implementation of best practices and continuous improvement
- Oversee the design and development of controller hardware and software
- Monitor and manage department operational metrics to ensure efficiency and effectiveness
- Contribute to motor controller technology strategy development and execution
YOU MUST HAVE
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field. Master’s degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in product engineering or related roles
U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENT
- Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status or have the ability to obtain an export authorization
WE VALUE
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
- Proven experience in motor controller or electro-mechanical system design and development
- Strong communication and teamwork skills with the ability to work effectively with cross functional teams and across all levels of the organization
- Knowledge of aerospace development process and industry standards (DO-254, DO-178, ARP4754)
- Excellent problem-solving and decision making ability and capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
PAY AND BENEFITS
The annual base salary range for this position is <$158- $200>. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Honeywell considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
