Honeywell is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Mechanical Design Engineer II to join our innovative Aerospace Technologies team in Singapore. This position is part of the Global Production Engineering Services (GPES) group that is responsible for material cost savings, productivity improvements and product support primarily in Gul Circle, Singapore. The key products include: Repair and Overhaul of Auxiliary Power Units, Accessories, Air Turbine Starters, Air Cycle Machines, Heat Transfer Products, Aircraft Valves and a wide variety of systems and accessories for aircraft.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To lead effort into process improvement with tools like capacity analysis & to explore optimization of current complex processes / systems and integration to improve efficiency / productivity for the site.
  • To support operations in improving effectiveness of production lines with regards to repair & overhaul of engines and mechanical components.
  • To liaise with technical team to develop and modify tools, methods and repair processes as and when necessary to improve specific repair and overhaul processes.
  • To identify and drive continuous improvement on the efficiency and methods of the site’s repair processes such as test equipment, tooling, etc ... to improve productivity at the site including automation or digitizing current standing processes at the site.
  • To perform continued operational standards related to test equipment at the site i.e. TPMs, AMs, etc ... to meet quality and safety standards.
  • To develop detailed process procedures and to compile the documentation for new and existing capability.
  • To manage capital expenditure for projects funded to the operation line and/or site.
  • To initiate and lead productivity / process improvement projects, including risk & cost analysis.
  • Provide technical support to production in identifying the root cause and its solution to process non-conformance.
  • To support production to overcome problems during New Product Introduction (NPI) implementation and First Article Inspection (FAI) for its product readiness.

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, preferably Industrial Engineering.
  • A minimum of 2 years working experience in a Repair and Overhaul / production line environment
  • Experience in Process improvement / Manufacturing process optimization / Continuous Improvement for the operation line
  • Good knowledge and experienced in one or more of the following processes: Automation & Digitization, Document Management System, Project Management.
  • Good knowledge and experienced in one or more of the following processes: Chemical cleaning, Assembly, NDT (FPI)
