Honeywell is launching the development of a new family of gas turbine engines that will help shape the future of the aerospace industry. Honeywell is hiring engineers in the areas of design, analysis, controls, test, and project management to accomplish this challenging new feat. Engine Systems and Component Analysis (ESCA) is a Center of Excellence responsible and accountable for the engineering design, analysis, development, qualification and support of structural and mechanical systems components for all Aerospace power system products. Engine Structures, within ESCA, is responsible for ensuring the mechanical integrity of the structural parts used on gas turbine engines. These responsibilities include the design, development, testing, and field support of static structure components which must meet requirements for life, cost, weight, maintainability, and durability. The engineer must address stress, strength, vibration, heat transfer, deflection, fatigue life, containment, material selection, etc. in evaluating parts. The Engine Structures Group in Phoenix, AZ is seeking to hire a Sr. Advanced Mechanical Engineer with proven knowledge and expertise in the field of structural analysis using ANSYS finite element analysis software.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform cooled turbine component design and analysis utilizing established best practices.
- Develop test requirements, provide test support, data reduction, and experimental/analytical correlation.
- Participate in development of Turbine Design System tools, methods, processes, and best practices to decrease design time and improve analytical fidelity of analyses.
- Provide novel design improvements and secure resulting intellectual property for Honeywell.
- Determine cooling flow requirements for engines during the conceptual design phase.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of blade and vane design strategies in support of new turbine engines or service-related redesigns.
- Utilize advanced and developing manufacturing techniques in component design.
- Perform blade and vane lifting analyses (rupture, oxidation, and TBC spallation).
- Communicate technical results to internal and external customers through written reports and oral presentations.
- Mentor and train less experienced domestic and global engineers.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
The annual base salary range for this position is $92,800 - $125,000. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Honeywell considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.

You Must Have:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics

- 5+ years in hot section component design, analysis, and testing, or advanced degree (MS or PhD) and 2+ years.

WE VALUE

- High proficiency with conjugate heat transfer for component design

- Experience in design and testing of turbine components

- Demonstrated success in the thermal design of cooled turbine components

- Demonstrated forward thinking in cooled blade and vane design efforts through successful invention disclosures and granted patents

- Advanced skills and experience in the design, analysis, and testing of the turbine

- Demonstrated success in engineering design process improvement.
