We are seeking an engineer with costing battery energy storage systems, renewable energy assets as well as electrolyzer based hydrogen production system including balance of plant. The candidate should have exposure to costing such plants as part of multi mega watt projects within country and globally and should be familiar with all applicable standards and regulations that are required to design and perform Techno Economic Analysis on such project assets. The candidate should be experienced in preparing FEED stage documentation for large scale electrolyzer systems.

Responsibilities:

Scope a large scale project involving electrolyzers, related balance of plant and electrical equipment from marketing requirements or RFQs floated. Convert the scope into a working level concept of electrolyzer system including selection of technology for electrolyzer, appropriate balance of system, size the individual units, specify the requirements for controls and instrumentation associate with such large scale electrolyzer based hydrogen generation systems.

The candidate will own the techno economic analysis and costing of the projects and should be abreast of the current state of art in all aspects of a green hydrogen value chain with good connects in the relevant industries at working level.

Electrolyzer Selection:

· Assess and select suitable electrolyzer technologies, including AEL (Alkaline Electrolyzer) and PEM (Proton Exchange Membrane), considering capacity requirements.

· Collaborate with engineering teams to align electrolyzer selections with project specifications and goals.

Costing for Electrical Equipment:

· Conduct detailed cost estimations for electrical equipment involved in electrolyzer systems.

· Analyze and optimize cost structures to ensure competitiveness and efficiency.

Balance of Plant Cost Economics:

· Evaluate the overall balance of plant costs, considering factors such as infrastructure, support systems, and auxiliary components.

· Develop strategies to optimize the balance of plant cost economics while maintaining system reliability and efficiency.

Costing Tools and Optimization:

· Utilize costing tools effectively to analyze and estimate project costs accurately.

· Continuously explore opportunities for cost optimization and implement improvements in the costing process.

Collaboration:

· Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, project managers, and procurement, to align cost estimates with project objectives.

· Provide insights and recommendations to support decision-making related to cost management.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Cost Engineering, or a related field.

Proven experience in electrolyzer selections, capacity planning, and costing for electrical equipment in industrial projects.

Strong understanding of balance of plant cost economics in the context of electrolyzer systems.

Familiarity with costing tools and the ability to optimize their usage for accurate and efficient cost estimations.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Effective communication skills to convey cost-related information to diverse stakeholders.

Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy in cost estimations.
