Job Summary:
The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the planning, scheduling, and coordination of production and warehouse activities to ensure efficient operations and resource optimization. This role involves collaborating closely with Management and Cultivation to forecast production needs, manage harvest activities, maintain accurate ERP system records, and ensure all inventory aligns with documentation. The Operations Manager also organizes staffing requirements for production, supporting the company’s operational goals with attention to detail and effective communication.
Main Responsibilities:
  1. Operations Planning and Scheduling:
    1. Develop and implement production schedules to meet company demand and optimize resource utilization.
    2. Collaborate with management team to forecast production needs.
    3. Schedule and organize required staff for production.
  2. Operation Responsibilities
    1. Collaborate with Cultivation team for harvest activities and ensure ERP systems are up to date and accurate.
    2. Ensure inventory is correct and matches corresponding documentation.
    3. Create and maintain batch records.
    4. Manage production including kiln processes.
    5. Collaborate with the Master Grower to maintain efficient and optimal flow for harvest .
  3. Security Responsibilities:
    1. Ensure that all security procedures and protocols are implemented effectively throughout the organization, coordinating closely with the security supervisor.
    2. Approve security-related expenditures and allocate resources effectively to maintain optimal safety standards.
  4. Team Leadership:
    1. Lead and motivate production teams to achieve production targets and quality standards.
    2. Conduct regular training sessions to enhance team skills and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  5. Quality Control:
    1. Establish and enforce quality control standards throughout the production process.
    2. Collaborate with quality assurance teams to identify and address product defects or deviations from specifications.
    3. Collaborate with quality assurance teams to complete batch records.
    4. Assist with site inspections.
    5. Evaluate the product during the harvest processes and ensure high quality results.
  6. Resource Management:
    1. Optimize the use of manpower, equipment, and materials to maximize efficiency and minimize production costs.
    2. Monitor and maintain inventory levels to ensure seamless production flow.
    3. Work with procurement to ensure proper levels of production needs.
  7. Process Improvement:
    1. Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency improvements.
    2. Implement and oversee the adoption of new technologies and methodologies to enhance production processes.
  8. Budget Management:
    1. Collaborate with finance and senior management to develop and manage production budgets.
    2. Monitor expenditures to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.
  9. Health and Safety Compliance:
    1. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the site environment.
    2. Implement and oversee safety protocols to minimize workplace accidents and injuries.
  10. Communication:
    1. Facilitate clear communication between production teams and other departments.
    2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address production-related issues and find timely solutions.
Other duties as required.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in operations or production management, preferably within a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
  • Strong proficiency with ERP systems and inventory management software.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a production setting is an asset.
Compensation Range: $80,000 - $90,000 annually. Actual salary will depend on experience.
