Roles and responsibilities:
Under the supervision of the Master Grower, the Assistant Grower will execute the following tasks related to production for outside grow:
  • Perform all growth media tests (Moisture, PH/EC)
  • Ensure proper irrigation of all plants in the zones of their control.
  • Ensure crop work is being done appropriately by the labour teams while they are in their zone.
  • Maintain and observe general health of the plants within their zone on a daily basis.
  • As needed, effectively scout for insects and diseases. Spot spraying when necessary.
  • Responsible for the applications of Biologicals and for requesting additional orders from the Master Grower.
  • Fill out all necessary crop paperwork.
  • Work with Master Grower and Facilities to ensure irrigation is working as desired.
  • Working with the labour teams, ensure all waste is removed from zone by end of day.
  • Show initiative with the improvement of their processes, with intention of increasing cannabinoids, yield and terpenes.
  • Work with Cleaning and Sanitation to ensure that their Zones are cleaned to a satisfactory level.
  • Responsible for the yield, potency, terpenes, and quality of the product coming from their zones.
  • In cooperation with other Assistant Grower, ensure that the health of the plants is monitored and kept over the weekends.
  • Competent to independently: maintain mothers, cut clones, rear clones, rear transplants, maintain vegetative plants and flowering plants.
  • Ability to perform cloning, transplanting, pruning, defoliation, harvesting, bucking and other tasks as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
  • A college diploma in horticulture or related field is required
  • 2-3 years of work in the Agricultural industry
  • Available to work evening and weekend as required to ensure the health of the plants and quality of product
  • Pesticide Applicators Licence, or Exterminator licence is an asset
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
  • Ability to use hands repetitively to handle, feel or operate standard office equipment
  • Manual dexterity with the ability to flex, reach and use fingers
  • Ability to lift up to 25 kg
Pay Range: $55,000 - $70,000 annually
