Job Summary
The Quality Assurance Supervisor will be responsible for establishing and supporting systems to ensure quality manufacturing of products as defined under Good Production Practices (GPP). Communicate, educate and support the quality requirements to all operational departments. Ensure appropriate compliance to all relevant regulatory requirements associated with the manufacturing, testing, packaging, storage and testing of products. Supervise all quality functions and personnel related to quality activities.
Important Note: This position requires travel to our Cayuga, ON location between May and November.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Analyze the gap between regulatory GPP requirements and operational systems.
  • Consult and advise functional departments on establishing systems to eliminate GPP gaps.
  • Conduct daily Quality Assurance meetings with quality staff and external departments, as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with all quality and GPP systems.
  • Supervise all quality functions and personnel related to the cultivation, manufacturing, testing, packaging, storage and testing of products.
  • Make final decisions on non-conformances and rejections and determine product disposition option in conjunction with designated QAP.
  • Liaise with all departments and subsidiary companies to support the production, sale and marketing cycle.
  • Communicate key quality performance indicators effectively across the organization.
  • Assist in investigating customer complaints as it relates to processing; if needed.
  • Manage customer requests for technical information relating to quality.
  • Manage quality agreements and contracted obligations of suppliers and third-party customers.
  • Provide consultation on quality requirements concerning manufacturing, third party customers, and government.
  • Manage quality audits and technical tours.
  • Participate in validation planning and execution.
  • Approve master equipment calibration specifications and review outside contractor calibration reports.
  • Manage technical protocols and reports as they pertain to quality.
  • Supervise and schedule quality assurance associate team to ensue operational coverage.
  • Travel Requirement: Must be able to travel to our Cayuga, ON location during the months of May through November.
  • Other duties and projects as required.
Qualifications
  • Post Secondary education in a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in quality assurance/control, preferably in the cannabis, pharmaceutical, or food industry.
  • Strong understanding of GPP, GACP, and cannabis industry regulations.
  • Proven leadership and supervisory skills.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, regulated environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and quality management software.
