Canadian Digital Service, Service Canada, ESDC

About CDS

We believe that public services should be easy to use, secure, reliable, accessible and inclusive for everyone — especially those most in need — and we want your help!

The Canadian Digital Service (CDS) is part of Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC). We aim to advance the goals of the Digital Ambition and improve service experiences in the Government of Canada.

About the Digital Credentials team

The Digital Credentials program at CDS will establish digital credentials as a foundational pillar for delivering modern digital services, enabling people to interact with the Government of Canada (GC) with trust, speed and security. Cornerstone initiatives include a GC-wide approach for sign-in and identity verification and a common platform for issuing and verifying digital credentials.

The Digital Credentials team is hiring a Product Manager!

This is a 18-month term position classified as an IT-04 in the Information Technology Group (IT), English essential.

  • Collaborate with your team to ship value at the earliest opportunity and constantly help team members to connect their work to the product vision, goals, and strategy as well as to the needs of the users and the organization.

  • Define measurable outcomes and goals and report against them to demonstrate progress and challenges.

  • Perform competitive and business analysis in order to refine your product strategy.

  • Be part of the 24/7 on-call team rotation and manage incidents and post mortems together with your colleagues.

  • Embed security and accessibility in an iterative way into your product requirements.

  • Technical experience with modern web applications and digital products.

  • Creativity and passion for problem-solving, prioritization and for working in complex environments.

  • Ability to build trustworthy relationships with stakeholders and peers and adapt your approach with each of them.

  • Proficiency in agile product management techniques, such as writing user stories, prioritizing backlogs, developing roadmaps, defining goals and success metrics and reporting against them.

  • Capability to explain technical concepts or decisions to technical and less technical folks alike.

  • Ability to demonstrate an inclusive and thoughtful approach to product management and to uphold impact, openness, integrity and fairness.

Additional assets:

  • Experience designing and developing authentication or identity management solutions.

  • Familiarity with modern DevOps and site reliability engineering concepts.
