As a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer in the Medical Imaging department, you will be responsible for conducting high-quality ultrasound examinations to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of various medical conditions. You will operate advanced ultrasound technology to obtain accurate diagnostic images while ensuring patient comfort, safety, and dignity. Your collaboration with radiologists and other healthcare professionals will be essential in delivering timely and effective patient care.

Responsibilities:

• Perform general and specialized ultrasound procedures (e.g., abdominal, pelvic, obstetric, vascular) according to physician orders and imaging protocols.
• Ensure patient comfort and safety by explaining procedures clearly and positioning patients appropriately.
• Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment, adjusting settings to obtain optimal image quality.
• Assess and document image quality, repeating scans when necessary to ensure diagnostic accuracy.
• Collaborate with radiologists and healthcare team members to support timely diagnosis and patient care.

Requirements:

• Completion of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program.
• Active registration with Sonography Canada or the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience in diagnostic ultrasound, preferably in a hospital or clinical setting.
• Proficiency in general ultrasound procedures.

Compensation & Benefits:

Payrate: $52/hr +4% for employees (or) $55.43/hr for an IC.
Dates required: ASAP- 1 year contract
Per diem: $50 for each working day
Payroll: Biweekly

Travel and accommodation expenses covered
$500 Referral fee; T&C applies
$250 for 3 months completion bonus
$500 for 6 months completion bonus
