Our presence in Ontario is expanding, and we are searching for various roles throughout the GTA, including an Intermediate Geotechnical Engineer within our Geotechnical Division based in our Mississauga office (Other office locations may be considered for the right candidate). You will be joining a dedicated and collaborative team of Engineers and Scientists focused on Geotechnical, Hydrogeological, Environmental, and Materials related projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute on geotechnical aspects of a variety of projects including writing proposals, field work, data analysis, preparing geotechnical design recommendations and writing geotechnical reports;
- Work with senior engineers and scientists across various disciplines to design and implement innovative and cost effective solutions;
- Prepare lab and field reports;
- Client management and consultation as required to manage projects and develop of a client base;
- Mentor and train junior staff;
- Conduct field inspections.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of a Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering (Geological Engineering program may be suitable) from a recognized university.
- 5+ years of geotechnical engineering experience.
- Excellent writing and verbal communication skills (English), strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage and prioritize several assignments at one time in order to deliver quality work on time and on budget. Preference will be given to candidates with Ministry of Transportation foundations project experience.
- Significant experience in geotechnical analysis, evaluations, and inspections.
- Experience with geotechnical software applications such as Slope/W, Seep/W, Sigma/W, Slide, Settle3D, FLAC, or similar.
- Be (or eligible to become) a Registered Professional Engineer in Ontario.
- Be motivated to provide excellent client service and enjoy working in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.

This range reflects what GEMTEC reasonably anticipates paying for this position. Final compensation will be based on the successful candidate’s education, experience, skills, internal pay equity, specific Ontario location, or other factors unrelated to Ontario‑protected grounds.
