ABOUT THE ROLE:
Fullscript is seeking a Sr Lead, Benefits to own and execute the strategy, design, governance, and evolution of our benefits programs across Canada and the United States. This role is responsible for defining our global benefits philosophy, optimizing the employee benefits experience, managing key vendor and broker relationships, and ensuring our programs remain competitive, compliant, and aligned with our people strategy.
This role will lead the development of our long-term benefits roadmap while overseeing day-to-day program governance, including leave programs, and benefits operations. The successful candidate will partner with stakeholders and collaborators across the People team who play a critical role in scaling our benefits function as the company grows.
What You'll Do:
Develop and own Fullscript's global benefits philosophy and strategy including leaves and time off programs.
Conduct ongoing market assessments, benchmarking, and benefits gap analyses.
Evaluate current programs and recommend enhancements aligned to employee needs and business priorities.
Lead the design, implementation, and rollout of new benefits programs and initiatives.
Balance global consistency with local market requirements across Canada and the U.S.
Lead the end-to-end negotiation of benefits renewals, partnering closely with Legal, Finance, Payroll, and People teams to manage budgets, drive strategic changes, and ensure cross-functional alignment.
Own relationships with benefits carriers, brokers, retirement providers, leave administrators, and wellness partners.
Establish vendor governance processes, performance metrics, and service-level expectations.
Evaluate vendor landscape and recommend consolidation or best-in-class solutions as appropriate.
Partner with brokers to leverage market intelligence, benchmarking, compliance guidance, and strategic recommendations.
Own the administration and delivery of benefits and leaves programs through a scalable operating model.
Design and implement employee education and communication strategies that drive awareness, utilization, and understanding of programs.
Continuously improve self-service resources, processes, and support models.
Act as the senior escalation point for complex benefits issues and employee advocacy matters.
Manage upcoming and active leave cases, partnering with internal stakeholders and external vendors to ensure effective case management and employee support.
Ensure ongoing compliance with applicable Canadian and U.S. benefits and leave regulations.
Own annual compliance activities, audits, filings, and reporting requirements.
Partner with Legal, Finance, Payroll, and external advisors to mitigate benefits and leave program related risks.
Maintain strong governance practices across all benefits and leave programs.
Coach, and partner with the People Operations team for benefits operations and employee support.
Define team processes, priorities, and service standards.
Build a scalable benefits operating model that appropriately balances internal ownership, vendor support, and outsourced administration.

What You Bring:
7+ years of progressive benefits experience, including leadership responsibility for strategy, plan design, and vendor management.
Deep expertise in benefits program design and administration in Canada and the US, with strong knowledge of U.S. benefits and compliance requirements.
Experience managing leave, disability, and complex employee cases.
Demonstrated success building or transforming benefits programs in a growing organization.
Strong vendor, broker, and stakeholder management capabilities and negotiating renewals.
Experience developing benefits communications and employee education strategies.
Ability to analyze market data, identify gaps, and translate insights into actionable recommendations.
Exceptional project management, influencing, and change management skills.
Experience leading or mentoring team members.

Compensation range
The salary range for this role is between $143,200 and $170,000 CAD. Fullscript shares salary ranges to support transparency and help candidates make informed decisions. The range shown reflects base salary only and does not include stock options, wellness stipends, or other benefits that are part of Fullscript’s total rewards package.
Final compensation depends on experience, skills, and location. We review pay regularly to stay aligned with market data and internal equity. Benefits and total rewards may vary by region.
