Job Title : Senior Staff Data Engineer

Experience: 8+ years

About the Role

Senior Staff Data Engineer is a leader who combines deep technical expertise with strong mentorship and process excellence. This is not just about building data pipelines; it’s about driving execution, enabling the team, and shaping the future of our engineering culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architecture & Design: Define and implement system architecture for distributed, data-intensive applications ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.
  • Data Engineering: Build and optimize pipelines using Databricks and PySpark for large datasets and high-volume data processing.
  • Cloud Solutions: Architect and manage AWS-based solutions for compute, storage, and analytics.
  • Automation & CI/CD: Develop and maintain automated workflows using YAML for deployment and testing.
  • Machine Learning Integration: Design and deploy ML models into production pipelines for real-time and batch processing.
  • Performance Optimization: Ensure systems can handle substantial data throughput with minimal latency.
  • Lead & Mentor: Provide technical guidance, coach engineers, and foster a culture of learning and collaboration.
  • Champion Processes: Drive Agile practices, ensure high-quality code through reviews, and establish engineering best practices.
  • Enable AI Innovation: Explore and integrate AI tools to boost productivity and enhance engineering workflows.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Technical Expertise:
    • Strong Technical Knowledge on Databases (Oracle, SQL Server, My SQL etc)
    • AWS cloud services
    • Databricks with PySpark for large-scale data pipelines
    • Experience with data lakehouse architectures for unified analytics and storage
  • Data & ML: Strong experience with big data processing and machine learning workflows.
  • Proven experience in technical leadership, mentorship, and team enablement.
  • Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies, code review processes, and engineering best practices.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with a track record of influencing technical strategy.

Preferred Qualifications

  • B.E / B.Tech / M.Tech or any equivalent Qualifications.
  • AWS Certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified Data Analytics).
  • .NET for enterprise application development.
  • GitHub Actions for advanced CI/CD automation.
  • Experience designing and managing large-scale relational and NoSQL databases, ensuring high availability and optimized performance for enterprise-grade workloads.
