We are seeking an experienced Senior Director of Engineering to lead our Israeli R&D center, managing a talented group of ~50 engineers and engineering managers across multiple teams. This is a key leadership role within our global engineering organization and will play a pivotal part in shaping and scaling our technology, people, and culture locally — especially as we integrate into a larger enterprise following a recent acquisition.
This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned leader with a strong track record in large-scale engineering organizations, ideally within global or post-acquisition environments, who thrives in both strategic and hands-on leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and scale the Israel-based engineering teams (~50 people), including direct management of several engineering managers and tech leads.
- Serve as the most senior technical and operational leader on-site in Israel, working closely with global leadership in the US.
- Partner with Product, Architecture, and Engineering peers globally to drive alignment, delivery, and excellence.
- Support and guide teams through post-acquisition change, ensuring continuity, retention, and cultural integration.
- Define and implement best practices in software development, team collaboration, and agile processes.
- Own delivery of complex projects involving cloud-native infrastructure, Kubernetes, and scalable microservices.
- Mentor engineering leaders, helping them grow into effective people and technical managers.
- Represent the site in cross-functional initiatives, helping shape the local and global engineering roadmap.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of software engineering leadership, including 5+ years managing managers and leading multi-team organizations.
- Experience in a global tech company — ideally US-based or in a company that underwent acquisition.
- Proven ability to lead engineering organizations through change management, integration, and scaling.
- Strong background in cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure), Kubernetes, and modern DevOps/SRE practices.
- Demonstrated success building and scaling engineering teams in high-growth environments.
- Experience working with remote and distributed teams across time zones.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills in English – verbal and written.
Preferred:
- Previous experience as a site leader or in a regional leadership role within a global company.
- Technical background with hands-on experience in software architecture or DevOps in past roles.
- Passion for people leadership, organizational design, and building inclusive team culture.
