What role you will play in our team

As a Safety & Risk Specialist supporting work within ExxonMobil’s Global Operations organization, you will provide valued support leading and driving effectiveness within processes related to our Operations Integrity Management System (OIMS).

Based in Bengaluru, you will be a part of our community of Safety & Risk professionals located around the world, including our team of Safety & Risk Subject Matter Experts and Principles at our Spring, Texas headquarters. You will be equipped with the required skills and knowledge, and thereby also expected to be able to work across geographic regions and leverage the strength and experience of others within our company, to ensure that we deliver maximum value to our operating site partners.

What you will do

Your primary role as a Safety & Risk Specialist will be to work from the Bengaluru office supporting one of the many ExxonMobil operating sites with Safety & Risk Management processes such as:

  • HAZOP Planning and Coordination
  • Safety & Risk Data Management and Analysis
  • Incident Classification and Documentation
  • Emergency Preparedness and Response Support
  • Safety & Risk Performance Evaluation
  • OIMS Process Improvements

Required Experience

About You

Preferred knowledge, skills & abilities

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Fire & Safety Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent field from a recognized university
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience in petrochemical, refining, oil & gas industry in Technical, Operations, and/or Safety roles.
  • Experience working at an oil & gas production, refinery or petrochemical facility and an understanding of process flows
  • Familiarity and experience with common industry safety processes:
    • Risk Management
    • HAZOP Studies
    • Incident Management/Investigation
    • Safety Data Analysis
    • Emergency Preparedness & Response
    • Management of Change
    • Safety incident classification (injury, illness, process safety event, etc.)
    • Safety metrics reporting
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Applications (Power Point and Excel)
  • Good working knowledge of data collection systems and processes (e.g. Enablon, based enterprise tools)
  • Proven critical thinking & analytical capabilities (data processing, statistical analysis, benchmarking).
  • Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools desired (e.g. JMP, Power BI, Power Query, SQL) preferred
  • NEBOSH Certification preferred
  • Willingness to work full-time from Bengaluru based office location
  • Willingness to work in shifts (1.30 PM – 10.30 PM IST) or (9:00 AM -6:00 PM IST)
