About this opportunity

We have an excellent opportunity for you to join our team as an Integration Engineer/Support Engineer working directly with our top customer in Switzerland. We are looking for a Packet Core Engineer having experience in NFVI/CNIS (Network Function Virtualization Infrastructure/Cloud Native Infrastructure) to join our Packet Core Solution delivery team in Switzerland. Your role will mainly focus on delivery but sometimes also support/presales. The location for this position is in Bern. You will report to Head of Solution Delivery MBBS.

These interesting tasks and activities await you:

• The main purpose of this role is to work together with our Delivery Manager and the rest of the delivery team to handle our installed base with the customer
• You will provide technical service and support to our customers
• Your primary tasks will include customer Issue handling e.g. SW testing, SW Upgrade, Traffic Migration, Node/Network Troubleshooting of Packet Core nodes namely EPG, SGSN, PCG, PCC etc
• You will interact with customer technical staff, operation managers, service engineers and other groups within the Service Delivery organization
• You may also interact with groups in sales, R&D, 3rd party suppliers and local authorities

You bring the following knowledge and experience:

• Education: Bachelor in Engineering / MSc
• Demonstrated Ability working in a virtual environment is a must.
• Should have good exposure to working with OpenStack (CEE), Kubernetes (CCD), Cloud Networking (SDI & SDN), and Cloud Storage.
• An outstanding troubleshooting skill is required to solve the customer issues
• Should be able to do tracing and complex logs analysis for Cloud Nodes
• Exposure to any of the following Cloud Core applications/environments is an advantage
  • MME/AMF/SMF/PCC
  • EPG/Packet Gateway
  • SAPC/CCPC/5G Policy Controller
  • IP Routing
• Working experience in a telecom support function earlier is an advantage
• Past experience with Ericsson will be preferred
• Good knowledge of 3GPP in Cloud area

Seen as an advantage:

• 2+ years’ experience of network design/integration or equivalent knowledge
• Business level English
• Agile methods and DevOps experience
• Passion for technology and a will to deliver outstanding customer experience
• Experience and highly skilled in NFVI/CNIS
• Experience of Openstack, Kubernetes design and integration
• Server deployment and verification experience (HPE, Dell, etc. Linux is a must)
• Strong passion and interest to learn new technology and tasks
• Experience of Ericsson NFVI products design, integration and verification such as SDI, CEE, CCD
• Experience of handling HCP products such as VIO, Openshift, etc
• A huge plus if you have experience with packet core/5GC applications as well.
