Master Thesis: History for Graph Databases
Ericsson
Join our Team
About this opportunity:
Large mobile networks are described by ever increasing quantities of data that change over time with new configurations. All this data must then be stored and must be available for rapid queries. Graph databases store the data as well as its connections, they provide a novel way to organize and query networks more efficiently and with larger flexibility. On the other hand, time-series databases are optimized for storing and querying time-dependent data but the datapoints are normally kept with a fixed schema. Merging both approaches would allow for a fast determination of a network history while keeping the relationship knowledge intact.
What you will do:
This master thesis aims to investigate and implement a database framework and implementation for ingesting, querying, and finding differences in large graph databases for time-based graph data and configurations.
The following steps are envisioned as part of the thesis work:
- Determine the ingestion and storage format for network and configuration changes in graph form
- Determine query structure to support searching for individual items, configurations, and deltas
- Implementation of the database framework within a helm chart
The thesis will be concluded with a result presentation for the Ericsson research team.
The skills you bring:
- Educational background in Electrical engineering, Computer science, Computer engineering or similar field.
