Within the L1 Software Development team in the Product Engineering Group RU Baseband Software, we are dedicated to designing and implementing Physical Layer Baseband functions for our Radio products. Our goal is to maintain Ericsson’s leadership in the market by delivering cutting-edge L1 solutions across diverse deployment scenarios, frequency bands, radio platforms and 3GPP/ORAN standards.

We are currently looking for a Senior Baseband Developer L1 to join our outstanding team in Kista. In this role, you’ll be working on our 5G/6G RAN L1 Software product, playing a key role in ensuring its performance and success.

What you will do:
As a member of the L1 team, you’ll shape system architecture, implement key features, and ensure high-performance deployment. Your focus will be on the Physical Layer (L1) components of Baseband software – core building block of our leading 5G RAN solutions and future 6G technologies.

You will:
• Collaborate with engineers to design/systemize, develop, and maintain software components essential to product functionality.
• Enhance existing features and develop new ones, with a focus on performance, scalability, and reliability – leveraging Ericsson’s evolving Multi-Core Architecture Platform.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and quality assurance activities.
• Troubleshoot and resolve software issues to ensure seamless operation.
• Stay current with industry trends and best practices, applying new knowledge to improve product innovation.
• Work within a dynamic, agile development environment to meet timelines and goals.

Skills you bring:
• A passion and craftmanship for software technology – strong interest in solving complex problems, passion for technical depth and breadth. The ability to dig deeper, understand the “why” and “how,” and connect the dots across different dimensions.
• Proficiency in C/C++ and a solid and proven expertise in embedded software design.
• Expertise in multi-core architectures and real-time systems.
• Domain knowledge in wireless communications, especially in signal processing, 4G/5G NR Physical Layer functions (highly desirable).
• Strong collaboration skills – thrive in international, multi-site teams; open communicator with a proactive, can-do attitude. Acting as role model - generous in sharing knowledge and feedback, invested in other’s success in the team.
• Adaptability – comfortable in fast-paced, agile environments; committed to delivering high-quality software on time.
• A drive for innovation – proactive mindset for continuous improvement in development practices.
• Education – Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Wireless Communications, or a related field.
• Relevant experience – more than 6 years in embedded software development in the Baseband domain in telecom, ideally in Physical Layer software development.
