About this opportunity

We are looking for a System tester to join our team at Packet Core developing Local Packet Gateway (LPG), an exciting product targeting to fulfill various edge use cases. Local Packet Gateway provides a complete cloud native 5G Core User Plane in a 1U server appliance by integrating Packet Core Gateway (PCG) and Ericsson Cloud Container Distribution (CCD) on a single server. PCG is a cloud-native user plane traffic processing and gateway function for dual-mode 5G Core which is designed to be extremely scalable. It consists of various microservices, which will run on the Kubernetes based CCD. LPG also supports centralized lifecycle management provided by the Ericsson Cloud Native Infrastructure Solution.

Ericsson LPG can fulfill various edge networking use cases, like:
• Ultra-Reliable Low Latency Communication (e.g.: remote control for robots, operator-assisted self-driving cars)
• Secure traffic (e.g.: traffic must not leave the enterprise's network)
• Mobile broadband (e.g.: wireless software upgrade of equipment at a factory)
The team you will join is end-to-end responsible for the LPG product planning, development, testing and release. This is a unique opportunity to participate in product development inside Ericsson from product definition to the release of the product.

• Design, write, maintain and document test cases based on requirements and develop automated test cases
• Possibility to participate in vulnerability and security testing
• Gain specialist knowledge in and hands-on experience with telco products and cloud infrastructure (PCG, CCD, Kubernetes)
• Participate in troubleshooting activities to identify the source of the problem and cooperate closely with developer teams to identify the root cause

You will bring

• Bachelor or higher degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent
• Experience in the development of test automation frameworks, programming skills in Python and possibly the knowledge of the pytest framework
• Experience in testing and a strong belief in the importance of quality assurance
• Knowledge of Linux, cloud technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and related networking
• Experience in continuous integration and delivery and related tools (Jenkins, GIT, Gerrit)
• Experience in working with test automation tools, development of automated tests (Java, Gherkin and Python)
• Agile mindset and ability to work in an agile development team
• Passion to continuously improve yourself and the ways of working
• Good command of written and spoken English

Good to have

• IP routing (BGP), networking knowledge and experience in troubleshooting networking related issues
• Security knowledge (Kubernetes, network, system, application)
