The candidate will be a member of the Ericsson Korea Leadership Team as Director of Government and Policy Advocacy Korea, reporting directly to the Head of Customer Unit Korea. This person will be responsible for shaping policy and regulatory outcomes to support Ericsson’s strategy. This role addresses key business needs by strengthening Ericsson’s voice with Korean policymakers and creating a more favorable policy and investment environment.
What you will do
• Formulate and lead advocacy activity on Ericsson’s business and policy priorities with government stakeholders.
• Assess and anticipate key public policy matters and oversee and coordinate external advocacy efforts, outreach programs, and key initiatives.
• Represent Ericsson’s interests effectively in industry associations where Ericsson is a member.
• Prepare verbal and written internal briefing materials to a high standard for local, regional, and global Ericsson executives.
• Distill and effectively communicate the significance of policy changes on Ericsson’s business.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment of policy advocacy with business objectives.
• Shape national technology policy in areas such as 5G, AI, and digital sustainability, contributing to a favorable regulatory environment that supports Ericsson’s long-term success.
What you will bring
• A Bachelor’s degree is required, along with an advanced degree, preferably in a relevant discipline such as Law, Political Science, International Relations, Public Policy, Technology, Science, or Engineering.
• 10+ years of experience in government or corporate public policy, preferably in the technology industry, with expertise in digital policy and a strong track record of influencing national technology strategy.
• Deep understanding of Korea’s regulatory and policy landscape, and strong experience engaging with government stakeholders, including the ability to influence at senior corporate and political levels.
• Demonstrated ability to manage regulatory issues, assess policy risks and opportunities, and deliver measurable advocacy outcomes aligned with business goals.
• Fluency in both Korean and English, with excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills for both internal and external senior-level engagements.
• Familiarity with telecom policy is preferred, along with a natural inclination to navigate complex regulatory environments and engage in strategic dialogue with external stakeholders.
• Motivation to contribute to Ericsson’s vision of enabling a digital, sustainable, and connected society. Some international travel will be required.
