Role Overview
As Commercial Manager you will be responsible for supporting the business to ensure that sales and investment opportunities will deliver the best possible financial and commercial terms for Red Bee. The role covers new business, customer renewals, organic growth and internal investment opportunities. You will work with people across the business at all levels. The role is global in nature, although heavily UK and Europe focussed.
Commercial Support
- Business Case (BCBOM) maintenance / improvement
- Business Case development
- Customer contract renewals
- New business opportunities
- Support customer Change Requests
- Support internal projects & investment cases
- Account for indexation / inflation
Additional duties
- Support the construction and evolution of ratecards and internal cost allocation methodologies
- Analyse and account for the impact and risk of proposed models/ customer offers
- Review offer documentation
- Ensure adherence to commercial governance.
Commercial Value
- Optimise pricing / business models, including commercial modelling
- Develop commercial strategy and structure with the Sales lead and bid team
- Build commercial value argumentation
- Liaise with the Contract Manager and Sales lead on the contractual T&Cs and their related (potential) impact on the Business Case
- Develop a sound understanding and experience as a Commercial Manager, continuously building knowledge of the company and the industry through experience and own initiative
- Solve complex problems taking a new perspective on existing solutions, exercising judgement based on the analysis of multiple sources of information
- Drive commercial management effectiveness and awareness across the business, identifying opportunities for improvement and suggesting corrective actions.
Key Skills & Experience
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to manage multiple stakeholders. Must be able to tailor information to the audience as appropriate, and explain financial information to non-finance people clearly and concisely
Solid financial knowledge of Profit & Loss, Cashflow and Balance Sheet principles & terminology, capex, inflation, payback, time value of money
Advanced Excel, preferably to macro/VBA level
Good commercial and business acumen
Challenger/questioning mentality
Ability to work to strict and tight deadlines
Creative and innovative thinker
Knowledge of ‘X as a Service’ models advantageous.
