About this opportunity:
Ericsson is a leader in providing innovative outdoor solutions that meet the highest standards of functionality and durability. We are seeking a self-driven Enclosure Design Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role involves end-to-end development of mechanical designs and enclosures that are robust, efficient, and compliant with industry standards.
What you will do:
- Lead end-to-end development of mechanical designs and outdoor enclosures from concept to production.
- Develop design specifications and ensure compliance with industry standards and environmental requirements.
- Perform detailed design analysis, including thermal, structural, and material assessments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate mechanical designs with electronic components and overall system architecture.
- Conduct verification and validation testing to ensure design meets functional and performance requirements.
- Identify and implement improvements to enhance the durability, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness of designs.
- Maintain documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and verification reports.
- Stay informed of industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation in design solutions.
The skills you bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in mechanical design, specifically for outdoor applications.
- Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, including material properties and environmental considerations.
- Experience with industry standards related to outdoor solutions, such as IP ratings and environmental testing.
- Self-driven with excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, fluent in English, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with thermal management and weatherproofing techniques.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes, including injection molding and sheet metal fabrication.
- Knowledge of sustainability practices and eco-friendly materials.
