About this opportunity:
We are looking for a Product Development Leader to join our R&D unit in Budapest, contributing to the development of internal tools supporting 5G and cloud-native technologies. You will lead a highly skilled team working on key components of Ericsson’s internal CI/CD infrastructure.
This role combines people leadership with product accountability, helping the team deliver high-quality software while growing their capabilities. You will also contribute to the strategic development of the product and ensure operational efficiency in an international, collaborative environment.
What you will do:
- Lead and support a cross-functional team responsible for CI pipeline orchestration and internal tool development
- Ensure stable, efficient, and scalable delivery of internal services supporting global CI/CD workflows
- Oversee supplier collaboration and performance, ensuring alignment with Ericsson goals
- Foster a collaborative and accountable culture within the team, aligned with agile and lean principles
- Engage with stakeholders across R&D and service organizations to ensure alignment and continuous improvement
- Make fact-based decisions and proactively address risks or roadblocks in a complex environment
- Coach team members and grow future leaders within the organization
You will bring:
Technical skills:
- Strong background in software development, CI/CD and platform engineering
- Understanding of DevOps workflows and tools (e.g., GitHub, Jenkins, pipelines)
- Experience in IT service management and/or IT operations (ITIL preferred)
- Ability to work with and lead development of internal infrastructure and services
Soft skills:
- Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strategic thinker with strong ownership and results focus
- Collaborative leadership style with the ability to influence across teams
- Comfortable in making timely decisions in complex or uncertain environments
- Customer-first mindset with a strong sense of accountability
- Ability to lead teams through change, building trust and driving clarity
It is an advantage if you have:
- Experience working with or leading external suppliers
- Familiarity with R&D environments and infrastructure-related tooling
- Exposure to Agile/Lean methodologies and cross-functional team leadership
