Ericsson Expert Analytics (EEA) is a groundbreaking solution, which combines big data technologies with outstanding event processing methodologies to analyze customer experience as well as performance and usability of the network infrastructure.
Our big data analytics solution invented by Ericsson Research Hungary is heavily based on our telecommunications domain expertise and is also strengthened by the near real-time data processing. It relies on a high scalable and distributed, cloud-based microservice architecture. By correlating huge amount of data from many different sources to impactful insights, using Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning (AI/ML) methods when appropriate, EEA allows operators to predict, prioritize and resolve customer-impacting events.
The center of the development is in Budapest, Hungary. Our organization is responsible end-to-end for the design, development, verification, maintenance, and customer deployment support of EEA.

We are looking for a senior Java engineer with SQL and database knowledge, who is passionate about working with cloud-native application technologies, the latest industry standard tools and concepts like Kubernetes, Docker, Jenkins, Spinnaker, Kafka, multiple level of automated testing (unit, function, integration, performance, robustness, stability testing), DevOps, CI/CD and more, furthermore has strong experience in developing software in Java (Spring boot) as well as have strong database design knowledge.

What you will do

  • Design, implement, integrate, configure, and troubleshoot Kubernetes / Helm / Java based microservices and database manager entities owned by the team,
  • Design and create performance and stability measurements, implement new functional and non-functional features for our big data solution called EEA
  • Develop automated test cases in Java for testing the implementation of EEA's functional & non-functional requirements,
  • Constantly focus on improving our Jenkins and Spinnaker based Continuous Integration (CI) and Delivery (CD) machinery,
  • Work closely with your teammates and other teams
  • Continuously improve your skills

The skills you bring

  • Professional Java/Spring boot development knowledge
  • Experience with the following technologies: Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, Kafka, REST API,
  • Understanding of Microservices architectures
  • Test competence,
  • Experience with integration of open-source software,
  • Familiarity with cloud native technologies, Jenkins, Spinnaker, version control systems (git),
  • DEVOPS automation mindset,
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Openness for working in agile environment,
  • Ability and willingness to quickly adopt new technologies and/or business domains
  • Strong team spirit and being self-motivated
  • To be a proven quick learner in technical disciplines
  • To be forward-thinking and willing to take on challenges

It is an advantage If you have

  • Prior hands-on experience in developing and/or deploying Microservices solutions on Cloud infrastructure
  • Experience with message-driven (i.e. Kafka) and event-driven (i.e REST) distributed systems
  • Prior work experience in Scrum,
  • Good analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Experience with SQL databases, maybe with Vertica or other column based databases
