Sr Sales Executive, Data Security, Japan
Position Overview Reporting to the Regional Sales Director, the Sr Sales Executive, Data Security Solutions will responsible for hands-on strategic account selling to drive sales of the company’s full data security solutions portfolio in Japan to acquire net new business, manage channels, recruit new channels and expand existing enterprise accounts with a mission to optimize profitable revenue growth, client engagement and satisfaction, pipeline development and accurate sales forecast.
The successful applicant will create and deploy strategies to develop a pipeline of new business opportunities throughout the designated territories and will be responsible for identifying, engaging, managing, and closing opportunities.
This role is not about just selling more products to the accounts/channels. It is about evolving your channel partners to develop, embrace and execute at the highest level in assigned accounts, selling more strategic and complex solutions.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Accounts Selling 50%
Developing the client engagement strategy, acting as regional expert for Entrust’s Data Security portfolio, including Cryptographic Security Solutions, Data Protection Solutions, Key and Cert Lifecycle Management Solutions, PKI, and Crypto Estate Management Solutions, bringing competitive knowledge and industry expertise for Entrust solutions.
Develop relationships with appropriate decision makers – up to and including C-level contacts in order to influence strategies related to Data Security
Deliver value proposition messaging to prospects within the territories.
Listen to and interpret customer requirements, build knowledge of customer challenges and propose technical solutions that directly apply to customer needs; leveraging Technical Sales Consultants and Solution Centre’s of Excellence, Professional Services, Customer Support, Channel Program and Marketing as needed.
Develop strategies to partner with the Account Management and Sales Development Team to grow and expand within existing accounts.
Sales Business Development 50%
Identify and develop new business opportunities in the cryptographic security space (e.g., startups, mid-sized enterprises, international clients)
Promote and position cryptographic security solutions such as HSM, KMS, encryption APIs, and PKI to prospective clients

Generate leads through various channels including cold calls, email campaigns, webinars, and industry events
Understand customer needs and collaborate with technical teams to deliver tailored solutions
Manage and nurture the sales pipeline, from lead qualification to deal closure
Analyze market trends and competitor activities to identify growth opportunities
Develop and onboard new distributors and resellers in domestic markets
Collaborate with partners to create joint go-to-market strategies and support partner enablement
Monitor partner performance and maintain strong, long-term relationships
Required Qualifications:
Minimum 10 total years’ experience in quota-carrying IT Enterprise sales, with a minimum of 3 years in IT security, data protection, enterprise solutions domain
Ability to effectively combine leadership and individual contributor roles (Coach / Player)
Bachelor’s degree in business or other relevant field
Experience working with a CRM system, such as SalesForce.com.
Strong business acumen and financial analysis skills.
Ability to work under pressure, manage priorities while meeting deadlines.
Excellent presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written.
Excellent organizational and follow up skills.
The candidate should be based in Japan (Tokyo)
Regular travelling to responsible territories & customers visits and relationship building within Japan
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience of selling and pre-selling cryptographic security solutions and enterprise-based IT solutions
Experience of identifying, recruiting and developing the right distributors and resellers for IT solutions or experience in channel sales (distributors, resellers, or VARs)
Proficiency in English
Experience in sales account management with large multinational IT company.
Experience and strong collaboration and teamwork skills with remote team members in APAC in a complex matrix environment desirable
