Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Psychotherapist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in providing therapeutic support, particularly to neurodiverse children and adolescents. This role involves working collaboratively with families and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality mental health care on an interdisciplinary team.
Duties
  • Conduct comprehensive screenings of patients to determine their mental health needs.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient goals.
  • Provide psychotherapy sessions to children, adolescents, and families in a supportive environment.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including medical professionals, occupational therapists, and speech language pathologists to coordinate care.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient progress and treatment outcomes.
  • Participate in case management activities to ensure continuity of care for patients.
  • Stay informed about best practices in special education as it relates to mental health support.
Experience
  • MSW, RSW, or RP designation.
  • Practice from a client-centred approach
  • Member in good standing of one of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario
  • Experience with Animal Assisted Therapy or interest to train in Animal Assisted Therapy an asset
  • Preference for experience with neuro-diversity and pediatrics and/or families
  • Must be comfortable communicating in one of the official languages (English and/or French)
  • Able to provide in person sessions.
  • Minimum 5 years experience.
  • Previous experience working with children and adolescents is preferred.
  • Strong background in patient care practices and case management strategies.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to psychological assessments and treatments is an asset.
  • Client centred approach to care.
  • Experience working with first responders or veterans is an asset.
  • Bilingual (English and French) is an asset.

  • We are looking to hire a full time / part time / casual employee who can dedicate 2-35 hours per week.
