Work You’ll Do
This role is responsible for the day-to-day management of a multidisciplinary team of approximately 15 professionals, including Deloitte and subcontractor staff, alongside client stakeholders. This individual is the primary on-site leader, ensuring seamless execution of project goals, high team performance, and compliance with contract requirements while fostering transparent communication with contract and client leadership.
The PM is expected to oversee and optimize multiple concurrent workstreams within the client’s capability, develop key client relationships, synthesize client requirements/goals, enable operational excellence, and provide strategic project management support that aligns with client standards. The ideal candidate balances direct project management with team leadership, staff development, and performance management in a dynamic federal environment. The PM also supports the client contract engagement manager in managing the team from a contractual perspective.
• Oversee and coordinate all activities across onsite workstreams, ensuring effective progress across multiple project workstreams and timely delivery of contractual obligations and deliverables.
• Collaborate with upstream engineering and technical solutioning teams to ensure capabilities are delivered in a timely, functional manner to meet requirements of operational team.
• Serve as the primary interface between contract leadership and functional teams, ensuring alignment on goals, regular milestone tracking, issue escalation, and status reporting.
• Foster ongoing engagement and build trust with client representatives, facilitating open communication and ensuring client satisfaction across all areas of delivery. Maintain relationships with key client stakeholders across the organization including executive level, primary local functional workstream leaders, and globally distributed functional collaborative stakeholders to oversee current work and maintain relationships as work expands. • Manage staffing needs, including hiring, onboarding, role changes, and roll-offs for Deloitte and subcontractor personnel. Proactively assess upcoming needs and maintain optimal team capacity for current and projected activities.
• Manage T&M financials including labor burn rates and travel budgets, reporting to the engagement manager on periodic deliverables.
• Set clear team and individual performance goals, conduct regular reviews and feedback sessions, promote professional development, and address performance issues promptly and fairly.
• Identify, recommend, and implement improvements in project delivery workflows, knowledge-sharing, and collaboration practices to improve overall section performance.
• Ensure adherence to client, federal, and Deloitte compliance standards, including all required documentation, tracking, and reporting for contractual and regulatory obligations.
• Maintain a robust on-site presence in Port Hueneme, CA, setting the tone for professionalism, responsiveness, and accountability.

Qualifications
Required:
• Bachelor’s degree
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
• Active Secret security clearance required
• 5+ years of experience in project management; preferably within federal or defense sector environments
• Familiarity with industrial controls, infrastructure, Internet of Things devices and systems
• Understanding of networking information technology Assets and systems, ability to interpret network diagrams, proficient in system networking
• Experience managing a team of engineers
Preferred:
• Successful in facilitating technical engagement delivery in dynamic environments
• Demonstrated success managing cross-functional teams and complex project workstreams
• Strong Organizational and communication skills, with proven stakeholder management experience
• Experience working with a mix of staff, subcontractors, and client personnel in an integrated team
• Ability to address staffing changes, performance management, and operational challenges in a fast-paced setting
• PMP Certification

This compensation range is specific to California and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $137700 to $229500.
