Position Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Public Assistance Manager to join our team in Tallahassee, FL. The Public Assistance Manager will play a critical role in ensuring effective communication between our field team and the Client, facilitating the flow of information and policy decisions. Key responsibilities include keeping the Client informed of the team’s weekly activities in the field, conveying policy decisions from the Client to the team on the ground, and utilizing extensive knowledge of FEMA public assistance programs to guide and support the team in their field operations. The candidate must have at least ten full-time years of experience, exhibit excellent communication and reporting skills to effectively manage information flow and documentation. Residency in Tallahassee, FL, is mandatory to fulfill the daily onsite requirements of this position. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in FEMA public assistance, possess excellent communication skills, and have a strong ability to manage and report on field activities. They will be a proactive communicator, ensuring that policy decisions are clearly conveyed and understood by the team serving applicants. - Bachelor’s degree required.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain the required clearance for this role.
- Must be local to the Tallahassee, FL area and able to come on sit in Tallahassee, FL.
- 10+ year of professional experience.
- 5+ years of experience in the following:
- Providing expert grants management support, technical assistance, and guidance for the FEMA Public Assistance program, FEMA Individual Assistance Program, Hazard Mitigation Program, or State/Local Relief Funds
- Advising federal, state, or local government stakeholders on strategies to prepare for, respond to, and recover from disasters.
- Grants management experience at the state, local and/or federal level supporting disaster recovery programs
- 2+ years business development experience in a consulting environment
