Work you’ll do

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Architect/Specialist to design, implement, and manage a modernized cloud infrastructure tailored to organizational needs. The role will focus on architecting scalable, secure, and cost-efficient cloud solutions while establishing policies, governance frameworks, and business processes. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in cloud platforms, infrastructure-as-code, DevSecOps practices, and cloud governance, with a proven ability to align technical solutions with business objectives.

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop, document, and manage Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and policies governing cloud business management, ensuring compliance with the Client.
  • Work with external Cloud customers to meet their needs within the structure of the Cloud program.
  • Apply expertise to measure project progression, identify risk, and justify corrective actions to ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Implement build, deployment, and monitoring standards for the client.
  • Deliver end-to-end automation of deployment, monitoring, and infrastructure management in a cloud environment.
  • Maintain accurate records of client data for auditing purposes, capture/develop metrics, and process improvement analysis.
  • Create scripts and/or templates to automate and/or bootstrap infrastructure provisioning and management tasks.
  • Plan, design, develop, test, implement, integrate, modify, maintain, and operate new and existing Cloud systems.
  • Provide knowledge of container management tools (e.g., Docker, OpenShift), container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes), infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Ansible, CloudFormation) and have familiarity with DevSecOps practices.
  • Perform static code analysis, unit testing and test-driven development, security testing, and automated test frameworks.

Cloud Engineering supports our clients as they improve agility and resilience, and identifies opportunities to reduce IT operations spend through automation by enabling Cloud. We accelerate our clients towards a technology-driven future, leveraging vendor solutions and Deloitte-developed software products, tools, and accelerators.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Masters of Science degree.
  • 5 years of experience working in Cloud platforms.
  • 10 years of progressive experience in a government environment.
  • PMP certification.
  • Must have an active TS/SCI government clearance.
  • Ability to travel 0-25%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you support.

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of information processing methods, multi-security domains, computer hardware and software, data communications, systems integration and management, applications.
  • Experience in a wide range of Infrastructure and IT Enterprise Architecture, and Application Software concepts, principles, and practices.
  • Experience in various IT disciplines including general military, geospatial, imagery, signal, and all-source intelligence.
  • Knowledge of Multi-Cloud platforms, Hybrid Cloud Technology, IaaC (Infrastructure-As-A-Code), PaaS (Platforms As A Code) and SaaS (Software as a Service).
  • Ability to plan, design, and deliver multi-cloud technologies into an enterprise-level environment.
