What will your typical day look like?

Key Responsibilities:

1. Technical Leadership:
• Oversee the design, development, and implementation of Java-based applications.
• Ensure adherence to best practices, coding standards, and technical feasibility of projects.
• Conduct code reviews to maintain code quality and consistency.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.


2. Project Management:
• Collaborate with project managers to define project scope, timelines, and deliverables.
• Monitor project progress and ensure that deadlines are met.
• Allocate tasks to team members and manage their workload.


3. Team Leadership:
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior developers.
• Foster a collaborative and productive team environment.
• Conduct performance reviews and provide feedback to team members.


4. Stakeholder Communication:
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including clients, to understand their requirements and provide updates on project status.
• Translate business requirements into technical specifications.


5. Continuous Improvement:
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance productivity and quality.


6. Software Development:
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
• Develop and maintain application documentation.
• Ensure the security, performance, and scalability of applications.


7. Quality Assurance:
• Implement and maintain automated testing frameworks.
• Ensure that applications are thoroughly tested and meet quality standards before deployment.


8. Collaboration:
• Work closely with other departments, such as QA, DevOps, and UX/UI teams, to ensure seamless integration and delivery of software solutions.
• Participate in cross-functional team meetings and contribute to the overall success of the project.


9. Risk Management:
• Assess risks appropriately when making business decisions, prioritizing the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citi Bank, its clients, and assets.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
• Apply sound ethical judgment in personal behavior, conduct, and business practices.
• Escalate, manage, and report control issues transparently.

We are currently seeking Lead Java Developers to join our team on a 1 year term. As a Lead Java Developer at Deloitte, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining Java-based applications or software solutions for a leading North American Bank. This long-term staff augmentation role requires strong expertise in Java and Spring Boot. This role involves technical leadership, project management, and collaboration with various stakeholders to drive innovation and process improvements to deliver high-quality solutions to our client.

Enough about us, let’s talk about you

Required
• Extensive professional experience in java development, with a history of working on large and complex applications with high business and customer impact
• Minimum of 8 years of professional experience with Java, Spring Boot, and RESTful API development.
• Database Knowledge: minimum of 8 years of professional experience working with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and experience with ORM frameworks like Hibernate.
• Minimum of 8 years of professional working experience within Agile or Scrum environments.
• Proficiency in front-end UI React is an asset
• Excellent Written and Communication skills.
• Bachelor's degree, preferably in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related IT discipline; or equivalent experience


Preferred
• Experience working in the financial services/banking industry.
• Analytical/ Decision Making Responsibilities
• Analytical ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks into manageable work products
• Can operate independently or with minimum supervision
• Ability to deliver technical demonstrations

Total Rewards


The salary range for this position is $110,000 - $130,000, and individuals may be eligible to participate in our bonus program.
