Work you’ll do
This DS&J project team is seeking an experienced Elastic Architect with a strong background in Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana (ELK stack). The ideal candidate will have a Secret Clearance and a proven track record in AWS Cloud Engineering, AWS Networking, and federating access across multiple applications.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and Architecture: Develop and implement cloud architecture solutions using AWS services, with a focus on Elasticsearch and the ELK stack.
ELK Stack Management: Deploy, manage, and optimize Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana in cloud and containerized environments.
Migration: Plan and execute the migration of on-premise systems to the AWS cloud, specifically focusing on Elasticsearch and related services.
Automation: Automate cloud-based processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention, particularly in the deployment and management of the ELK stack.
Optimization: Continuously monitor and optimize cloud infrastructure for performance, cost, and security, with a focus on Elasticsearch performance tuning.
Collaboration: Work closely with DevOps and engineering teams to develop service catalogs and maintain architectural templates related to Elasticsearch and the ELK stack.
Security: Ensure that cloud environments are secure and compliant with industry standards and best practices, working collaboratively with Infrastructure/Cyber teams.
Support: Provide technical support and guidance to other teams and stakeholders regarding Elasticsearch and cloud solutions.

This can include the delivery of large-scale software applications & integrated systems, the development of service-oriented architecture (SOA) & other integrations solutions, and the delivery of technology enablement to support CIO services transformation. Our Application Modernization and Innovation offering focuses on key client issues that impact the core business. We provide operational value, modernized mission solutions, and enhanced technology innovation.
Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of professional experience
- Experience with Elastic search and the ELK stack
- Bachelor’s degree required in Computer Science, Information Technology, and/or related field
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
- Must be able to obtain and maintain the required clearance for this role
- Active Secret Clearance
- Travel up to 30%
Preferred:
- Proven experience in cloud computing, specifically with AWS
- Experience with containerized environments and orchestration tools like Kubernetes
- Experience with other cloud platforms like Azure or Google Cloud is a plus
- Strong understanding of AWS services and cloud architecture
- Proficiency in automation tools and scripting languages
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities
Preferred Certifications:
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect
- AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner
- Elastic Certified Engineer (preferred but not required)
