Position Summary

Deloitte Consulting LLP seeks a Consulting, Senior Solution Specialist in Tampa, Florida and various unanticipated Deloitte office locations and client sites nationally.

Work You’ll Do
Drive software development and implementation services to help companies unlock the value of big technology investments ranging from requirements to architecture, design to development, testing to deployment, and beyond as discrete services and comprehensive solutions. Participate in setting engagement objectives and scope, develop work plans for components of engagements, coordinate activities between workstreams, and identify changes in scope. Drive the evaluation of technology needs, develop customized applications, and draft technical and functional design documentation. Identify and mitigate risks in process and technology for engagements. Perform assessments of existing information systems and identify gaps between business requirements and current system capabilities; estimate time and resources needed for the development work. Define systems strategy, develop system requirements, design, prototype, and test custom technology solutions, and support system implementation. Transform detailed requirements into a complete, detailed systems design document; support creation of interface specifications and call flows for the various components in the design. Gain exposure to multiple industries and service lines while demonstrating an awareness of the full breadth of services offered by engagement follow-on opportunities.

Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Business Administration, any STEM field, or a related field. Must have 2 years of related work experience in the job offered or in a related occupation. Position requires 2 years of related work experience in each of the following:

  • Designing and developing applications using Java, Java 2 Platform, Enterprise Edition (J2EE), Apache Struts, Spring 4, Spring Boot, Hibernate, Oracle, and WebLogic Server to meet functional needs for software applications;
  • Delivering full-life cycle Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) and microservices-based solutions by leveraging Spring Cloud and Spring Boot Microservices methodology across Web, Mobile, and Cloud architectures;
  • Delivering and deploying custom developed applications for clients including prototyping, code development, modularization, unit testing, configuration and defect management, and production deployment utilizing JUnit, Apache Maven, Jenkins, Docker, XML, Representational State Transfer (REST), and Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP);
  • Performing software development in Spring Web Services (Spring-WS), RESTful, and SOAP development environments and web service testing through use of Postman and Simple Object Access Protocol User Interface (SoapUI);
  • Performing aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) including requirements gathering, application configuration design, business process analysis, scripting, code deployments, enhancement validation, triage of defects and change requests, escalations, and urgent issues by employing Agile and DevOps methodologies, Apache Subversion (SVN), and Atlassian Jira; and
  • Creating technical and functional specifications including screen layouts, navigation flows, logic diagrams, data and process models, and pseudo code utilizing Unified Modeling Language (UML)
