What you’ll achieve

As a Senior Software Manager, you will be responsible for leading the software development organization and driving the technical direction of Dell's VxRail hyperconverged infrastructure platform. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product management, and quality assurance to ensure the delivery of high-quality software solutions that meet customer needs. You will also be responsible for driving technical innovation, mentoring junior engineers, and ensuring the adoption of best practices and industry trends, including AI and machine learning technologies.

And you will be part of our leadership team to work closely with senior engineering leaders, architects and EPMs. And you will build up good business sense to understand and define the next generation HCI product together with global talents, and to win together with our customers.

You will:

• Lead team to plan and make high quality delivery, including grooming, design, development, test and customer issue support.

• Create and maintain a high performing, engaged team.

• Care people development as well as release delivery.

• Interface with senior management to report on project and program milestones and to present project needs and technical knowledge

• Teamwork with peer teams including DEV, QE and Customer escalation to reach business goal and for customer satisfaction.

Management responsibilities

1.Team Management: Manage a team of software engineers, including setting goals, priorities, and resource allocation.

2.Performance Management: Conduct performance reviews, provide feedback, and develop growth plans for team members.

3.Resource Allocation: Allocate resources, including personnel, equipment, and budget, to ensure successful project execution.

4.Budgeting: Develop and manage budgets for software development projects, including forecasting and tracking expenses.

5.Stakeholder Management: Communicate with stakeholders, including product management, sales, and customers, to ensure alignment and satisfaction.

Essential Requirements

• BA/BS or equivalent degree in Computer Science or similar disciplines with 10+ years of work experience with 5+ years team management experience.

• Experience managing large teams of software engineers, including setting goals, priorities, and resource allocation.

• Strong background in agile software development, with project management skills.

• Experience in Python or Golang or other programming langagues

• Excellent written & verbal communication skills, strong presentation and negotiation skills

• Very good Problem solving and analytical skills

Desirable Requirements

• Micro service knowledge is a plus..

• Domain knowledge on Cloud/Virtualization/HCI technology is a plus.

• Experience with containerized orchestration systems (Kubernetes, Rancher, etc) is a plus

• Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools (e.g., Jenkins, Github CI/CD) is a plus
