Principal Software Quality Engineer

Our Software Quality Engineering team ensures that our next-generation software is of the highest quality. We conduct a wide range of quality control tests and analyses to ensure that our software meets or exceeds end-user requirements. We debug software products, oversee the development of test plans, ensure system tests are documented, analyse the results, provide feedback to developer, and make sure that all problems are resolved. We also select testing specifications for new products and ensure testing procedures comply with industry-specific standards.

What you’ll achieve
As a Principal Software Quality Engineer, you will develop, revise and maintain test plans, test cases and automated test scripts that include resource requirements, schedule assumptions and scope based on pre-determined product requirements. You will work in a Global Scrum@Scale environment of Test Engineers , Architects, Product Development, Product Management and the Customer Support teams to ensure product quality and customer satisfaction. You will collaborate to develop comprehensive test plans and test cases for Dell’s PowerStore platform. You will also have the opportunity to drive continual process improvements for test and analysis tools using our own AI systems on our CI/CD pipelines.

You will:

• Author and execute test cases and testing methodology for complicated End to End manual and automated System tests.

• Contribute to test automation activities by coding and programming in current languages

• Develop new and re-evaluate existing test methodologies and processes

• Analyse, debug and maintain test runs for continuous integration process

• Participate in Scrum teams and contribute to our team’s goals and performance in Scrum@Scale environment.

Essential Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in software engineering, with a strong emphasis on test development and automation.

• Minimum of 3 years work experience on Embedded or Hardware integrated Software solutions for Storage / Network or similar products.

• Proficient in Python with extensive experience in developing automated tests and test frameworks on a Linux platform.

• Ability to read a specification (hardware, software or network) and develop appropriate test methodology

• DevOps and CI/CD tools knowledge and experience, such as Jenkins, Docker, etc...

Desirable Requirements

• Familiarity and hands on experience with Storage High Availability concepts.

• Familiarity and hands on experience with applications such as - VMWare ESXi and Vcenter or Windows Server Clusters or NAS Applications management.
