Systems Development Engineer

What you’ll achieve
As a Senior Systems Development Engineer in Custom Design Group, yyou will work on projects directly tied to unique customer solutions that are based on the standard Dell portfolio of products. This role will be responsible for working closely with the engineering lead on creating and executing on a development plan to meet the customers goals.

You will:

  • Deliver assigned system interfaces with design and process across extended teams

  • Prepare documentation for inspection/testing procedures

  • Design, develop and implement cost effective methods of testing and troubleshooting systems and equipment

  • Prepare test and diagnostic programs, design test fixtures and equipment and complete specifications and procedures for new products

Essential Requirements

  • 2 - 5 years of experience in validating server components including PCIe cards, CPUs, memory modules and storage devices using structured test methodologies.

  • Ability to configure and validate diverse server setups—multi-socket CPU systems, RAID/storage topologies, GPU and accelerator integration, and network configurations

  • Experience in full system validation including cluster setups, failover testing, thermal/power profiling, and compliance with standards like PCIe Gen5, UEFI, and IPMI.

  • Ability to maintain detailed test plans, logs, and failure analysis reports.

  • Experience in validating BIOS/firmware compatibility and system stability



Desirable Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Engineering Degree with 2 to 5 years of related experience

  • Experience in developing automated test frameworks and driving process improvements to enhance test coverage, efficiency, and product reliability.
