We pride ourselves on our contributions to the community and the way we treat our team members.The OpportunityPermanent, full-time Software Engineer role incorporating some functions of a Software Architect and Software Specialist: evaluating, designing, implementing, supporting and maintaining software products developed by DataKinetics.With flexible schedules and work options, DKL follows a hybrid work structure where employees can work remotely or from our Kanata, Ontario office, as needed, based on task demands. Working from the office is encouraged when tasks require a high degree of collaboration.What you’ll be doing:- Primary responsibility for developing and maintaining the z/OS products written in Assembler- Provide 3rd level support for software products- Improve overall performance of products- Provide technical input on the development and evolution of the products- Deliver training on the products when the need arises- Participate in the management and evolution of the development process and systems, including development, testing and support- Assist the Chief Product Officer with customer and vendor engagements- Communicate comfortably with executives and customersYour experience:- 5+ years of experience with mainframe assembler development specific to the z/OS operating system and other software products- Some experience supporting/training of software development and use with little or no direction (logical design, defining, implementing, monitoring, reporting and utilities)- Ability to write/read/debug assembler programs in a batch and online environment- Solid knowledge of mainframe JCL and utilities- Excellent English communication skillsPerks- Competitive compensation, creative benefits, outstanding work environment, community involvement and growth potential- 15 paid vacation days (increases after 5 years)- Your birthday is a gifted day off- 1 paid personal day to volunteer; 9 other personal days- Annual training allowance (1% of salary)- Company gifted days near year-end holiday season- 50% RRSP match on up to 4% of salary (when you join the benefits plan)- Extended health and dental coverage; $500 health spending account (with benefits plan)- Sens ticket opportunities, drink fridge, weekly staff lunch, charitable matching, KRP tenant discount card- Great, welcoming corporate culture; flexible schedulesEquity, diversity & inclusion: DataKinetics is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes applicants from diverse backgrounds.
