Job Description:
Crowe Studio is Crowe’s AI-native, platform-led transformation business unit, created to design, prove, and scale new ways of delivering work for clients and for the firm. Studio operates outside traditional labor-based models, combining AI-enabled delivery, global capability centers, and reusable platform components to deliver outcomes—not hours.
The Studio exists to:
Build and operate AI-enabled, globally delivered services
Rapidly deploy and scale AI through Forward-Deployed Engineering (FDE)
Create reusable platform components that modernize delivery across Crowe’s business units
India is foundational to this model, not simply as a delivery location, but as a core engine of execution, talent development, and leadership capacity for the Studio.
This requisition is for a Director, Studio Operations & AI Delivery based in India who will help build, lead, and mature Crowe Studio’s presence in India, with equal emphasis on people leadership, AI delivery excellence, cross-functional transformation, and elevating the Studio BU’s leadership footprint in India.
This is not a traditional practice lead or functional specialist role. It is a Studio leadership role, accountable for shaping teams, developing leaders, enabling transformation, and ensuring India operates as a fully integrated, high-impact part of Crowe Studio’s global operating model.
Key Responsibilities
People & Leadership Excellence
Build, lead, and retain high-performing, multi-level teams across AI-enabled delivery and platform-aligned services
Develop and scale leaders of leaders (Managers, Senior Managers, Directors), not just individual contributors
Establish clear expectations around accountability, growth, performance, and culture
Foster a coaching-oriented environment that supports professional development, succession planning, and retention
Create clarity and momentum in fast-growing, ambiguous environments
AI-Native Delivery Leadership
Provide informed leadership and oversight of AI-enabled delivery programs, including Generative AI, ML, AI engineering, and agentic workflows
Apply sound judgment to distinguish what will scale sustainably versus what introduces delivery or operational risk
Partner with AI architects, engineers, and FDE teams to ensure delivery quality, reliability, and reuse—without acting as the day-to-day technical owner
Ensure AI delivery aligns with Studio’s platform-led, outcome-based delivery model rather than bespoke or labor-driven approaches
Studio & Cross-Functional Leadership
Operate effectively across Studio ventures and disciplines (AI, Client Delivery, Platform, Design, Operations)
Partner closely with U.S.-based Studio and business-unit leaders to align priorities, capacity, and execution
Translate strategy into execution through operating rhythms, governance models, and clear prioritization
Influence outcomes in a matrixed environment, often without direct authority
India Leadership & Presence
Serve as a senior Studio leader in India, representing Crowe Studio with credibility, confidence, and authority
Build and strengthen India leadership structures—not just delivery capacity
Elevate India’s role from execution-focused to leadership, innovation, and co-creation partner
Strengthen India–U.S. collaboration through cultural fluency, trust-building, and shared accountability
Operational & Scaling Discipline
Own delivery health across capacity planning, utilization, quality, cost, and performance
Drive repeatability, reuse, and standardization while maintaining high delivery standards
Apply a data-driven approach to talent planning, performance management, and continuous improvement
Operate comfortably in outcome-based, non-hourly delivery models
Skills & Leadership Attributes
Deep understanding of AI and emerging technologies and how they translate into scalable, outcome-driven delivery models. Brings delivery-informed perspective to Studio strategy and operating decisions, with a strong bias toward operational excellence.
Trusted, effective leader who collaborates across U.S. and India leadership, Studio ventures, and Crowe business units. Communicates clearly, builds alignment, and maintains strong relationships even in complex or high-pressure situations.
Proven ability to lead and scale teams of managers and senior managers. Develops leaders, sets clear expectations, and creates space for teams to do their best work without micromanagement.
Curious, open, and adaptable. Challenges assumptions, breaks down silos, and fosters a culture of learning and continuous improvement that directly improves delivery quality and impact
Required Qualifications
10+ years of experience across AI, machine learning, data science, software engineering, or advanced analytics roles
Demonstrated leadership in AI transformation initiatives or AI-enabled delivery programs , including Generative AI and Machine Learning
Experience operating in FDE-style or productized delivery environments, not just advisory
Proven ability to build, lead, and retain high-performing teams at scale
Track record of developing next-level leaders, not just individual contributors
Experience building India leadership structures, not just delivery teams
Experience managing capacity, utilization, quality, and cost in global delivery models
Strong coaching mindset with clear expectations around accountability, growth, and culture
Ability to establish clarity, trust, and momentum in fast-growing, ambiguous environments
Strong understanding of AI system design, model lifecycle management, and production deployment
Experience leading large, distributed teams and complex client engagements
Proven ability to communicate technical concepts to executive and non-technical audiences
Experience working with cloud platforms (Azure preferred) and modern data/AI stacks
Strong background in governance, risk management, and enterprise delivery models
Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed to support client and team needs
Bachelor’s degree required in business, technology, engineering, or a related field
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience in a Big 4 or large global consulting firm
