About the Role
As a Business Development Representative (BDR), you will generate new business opportunities by prospecting into construction industry accounts and booking qualified meetings for our Account Executives.
This is an outbound-focused role where success is measured by the quality of meetings booked and their conversion to pipeline and revenue — not just calendar volume. You will follow a structured process, execute with urgency, and play a key role in driving company growth.
You are motivated to identify opportunities, research target accounts, and generate pipeline through disciplined daily activity. You take feedback well, apply it quickly, and understand that consistent execution drives results.
What You Will Do
● Execute high-volume outbound prospecting by phone and email to drive new business opportunities
● Qualify inbound and outbound leads through focused, structured discovery conversations
● Surface pain points, confirm authority and timing, and secure meaningful next-step meetings
● Sustain consistent daily activity levels and follow-up discipline
● Communicate credibly with construction owners, operations and safety leaders without relying on jargon
● Research prospects within assigned territories or industries to proactively create outreach opportunities
● Collaborate with Marketing and Account Executives to support targeted prospecting campaigns
● Maintain accurate and complete activity tracking in CRM tools to ensure pipeline visibility
● Contribute reliably to pipeline targets aligned with quota attainment
● Participate in training and apply structured processes to continuously improve performance
Who You Are
● 1+ years of sales or business development experience in a high-volume environment (preferred)
● A strong communicator — outgoing, confident, and able to build rapport quickly
● Comfortable cold calling and initiating conversations with senior decision-makers
● Tenacious and competitive, with a results-driven mentality
● Resilient — rejection does not impact your output or urgency
● Organized and process-driven to support strong CRM discipline
● Technically curious, with the ability to explain software solutions clearly to non-technical audiences
● Coachable, accountable, and motivated to consistently hit performance targets
Assets
● Experience working in or selling to the construction industry
● Familiarity with CRM and sales engagement tools such as Salesforce, Gong, HubSpot, or ZoomInfo
● Clear performance metrics from previous roles (quota, attainment, activity levels)
Compensation
Base salary: $45,000 - $60,000
This role offers a competitive base salary plus a commission structure aligned with performance. Total on-target earnings (OTE) combine base and variable compensation tied to qualified meetings and sustained pipeline contribution.
