Who You'll Work With

Cisco Networking Engineering (CNE) - erstwhile Distributed Systems Engineering (DSE) is a multi-billion-dollar business that generates its revenue primarily from the Web, Service Provider Edge, Core & Optical markets. The organization in India deals with development of High-End Routers like ASR9000, NCS5500, NCS540, NCS560, NCS5700 and Optical products like NCS1010, NCS1014, NCS1004, NCS4000 and NCS2000 series.

What You'll Do:

  • Delivering software with benchmarked quality and customer happiness, thereby enabling faster customer adoption.
  • Uses expertise and creativity for innovative product recommendation and solutions. Applies knowledge of Cisco's business strategies.
  • Automated End-to-End System/Solution test experience needed.
  • Engage in debugging complex network problems and define solutions.
  • Work on Network automation, algorithmic thinking and Analytics applications derived from customer use cases
  • Work on continuous improvement and transformation. Scientific, Data driven testing.
  • Collaborate effectively with teams across geographies, direct customer interfacing and stakeholder management.
  • Write Python Automation test plans which define the automation strategy and test cases for new features / Solution Test / System Test

  • Strong in Software engineering test methodology and process knowledge

Who You Are:

  • Excellent knowledge of test automation with Python and other automation test tools and methodologies is a must
  • Good understanding of Manageability technologies like OpenConfig, Restconf, Netconf-yang, Telemtery is a plus
  • Knowledge of Openconfig and OpenROADM specification is a plus
  • Expertise in Optical Technologies DWDM, ROADM, OTN, Coherent is a huge plus
  • Good understanding of customer deployments, operations and the ability to translate brown field/green field deployments into test strategy with high efficacy
  • Quick learner with an open mind to "grey box" testing, bringing in strategic on-the-box, off-the-box views that reflect the state of IOS-XR systems.
  • Experience in test engineering concepts and methodologies including test planning, test case design, test execution and test automation
  • Experience in Layer-0, Layer-1 traffic generators and analysers (e.g. Viavi, Agilent, Spirent, IXIA, etc.)
  • Strong written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Results oriented with a high degree of accountability, dedication and responsibility
  • Typically requires MS/BS in EE/CS combined with 6 - 8 years proven experience
  • Excellent problem solving skills, familiarity with Linux and modern software tools and techniques for development/debugging and solid software design and development skills
  • Industry certification such as CCNA/CCNP/CCIE/JCNA/JCIE will be a huge plus

When available, the salary range posted for this position reflects the projected hiring range for new hire, full-time salaries in U.S. and/or Canada locations, not including equity or benefits. For non-sales roles the hiring ranges reflect base salary only; employees are also eligible to receive annual bonuses. Hiring ranges for sales positions include base and incentive compensation target. Individual pay is determined by the candidate's hiring location and additional factors, including but not limited to skillset, experience, and relevant education, certifications, or training. Applicants may not be eligible for the full salary range based on their U.S. or Canada hiring location. U.S. employees have access to quality medical, dental and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with a Cisco matching contribution, short and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance and numerous wellbeing offerings. Employees receive up to twelve paid holidays per calendar year, which includes one floating holiday, plus a day off for their birthday. Employees accrue up to 20 days of Paid Time Off (PTO) each year and have access to paid time away to deal with critical or emergency issues without tapping into their PTO. We offer additional paid time to volunteer and give back to the community. Employees are also able to purchase company stock through our Employee Stock Purchase Program.

Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco typically pays as follows:

.75% of incentive target for each 1% of revenue attainment up to 50% of quota;

1.5% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 50% and 75%;

1% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 75% and 100%; and once performance exceeds 100% attainment, incentive rates are at or above 1% for each 1% of attainment with no cap on incentive compensation.

For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
