As head of Meraki Dashboard, you will lead the teams responsible for the Meraki Dashboard Platform and features that span the Meraki product line. The Dashboard is the face of the Meraki cloud ecosystem administrators have grown to love. You will take Meraki Dashboard to the next level of simplicity and scale as we innovate around opportunities in AI and security to meet the needs of administrators of some of the largest networks in the world.
Above all else, success in these efforts will depend on your ability to support the team of full-stack web developers and build strong relationships with other engineering leaders, UX, product management, and security partners. Meraki engineering is highly collaborative, so the engineers work closely within their teams and those they support with the platform.
You will:
- Work with the CTO, head of Meraki Cloud, product management, and other senior engineering leaders to set the technical vision for the Meraki Dashboard Platform
- Guide engineering teams through defining short, medium, and long-term goals to achieve the vision
- Lead the recruiting strategy to build a diverse and inclusive team: driving decisions on whom the team needs to hire, partnering with our recruiters to define requirements, and talking to candidates
- Mentor and coach managers and senior engineers through technical and non-technical challenges
- Develop career plans for people on your team and help them do the same for theirs
- Encourage thoughtful and creative ways to recognize achievement
- Provide counsel as a member of senior engineering leadership
- Assist with engineering-wide initiatives such as offsites, training, and process evolution
You are an ideal candidate if you:
- Have extensive software engineering experience (10+ years) building web applications at scale
- Have experience managing through managers organizations of 50+ full-stack engineers and are passionate about growing as a leader
- Have experience building a team, making decisions on recruiting, and organizational design
- Have excellent communication skills and can articulate a compelling vision
- Have experience partnering closely with UX Design, Data Science, and Product Management, as well as other software engineering teams
- Have the empathy and emotional intelligence to lead a diverse group of engineers and managers at varying stages of their careers
Bonus points:
- Programming experience with Ruby on Rails and Javascript/React
- Have an understanding of networking basics, common protocols

When available, the salary range posted for this position reflects the projected hiring range for new hire, full-time salaries in U.S. and/or Canada locations, not including equity or benefits. For non-sales roles the hiring ranges reflect base salary only; employees are also eligible to receive annual bonuses. Hiring ranges for sales positions include base and incentive compensation target. Individual pay is determined by the candidate's hiring location and additional factors, including but not limited to skillset, experience, and relevant education, certifications, or training. Applicants may not be eligible for the full salary range based on their U.S. or Canada hiring location. U.S. employees have access to quality medical, dental and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with a Cisco matching contribution, short and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance and numerous wellbeing offerings. Employees receive up to twelve paid holidays per calendar year, which includes one floating holiday, plus a day off for their birthday. Employees accrue up to 20 days of Paid Time Off (PTO) each year and have access to paid time away to deal with critical or emergency issues without tapping into their PTO. We offer additional paid time to volunteer and give back to the community. Employees are also able to purchase company stock through our Employee Stock Purchase Program.
Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco typically pays as follows:
.75% of incentive target for each 1% of revenue attainment up to 50% of quota;
1.5% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 50% and 75%;
1% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 75% and 100%; and once performance exceeds 100% attainment, incentive rates are at or above 1% for each 1% of attainment with no cap on incentive compensation.
For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
