Who you'll work with

Computing systems product group is a global organization spanning the development, sqa, tme, product management and program management organizations. The group is responsible for delivering an innovative end-to end way to configure both rack and blade servers all the way from firmware revisions to i/o connectivity for growing highly sophisticated data center while enabling it as a service (ITaaS).

Currently our product portfolio consists of unified computing servers, both blade and rack models; and UCS management software which allows simplified access and control to all components of the complete end to end solution. The business unit provides an excellent opportunity to grow in exciting and expanding market of virtualization in the data center. CSPG is crafting the vision, strategy, and products for next generation data center server access and virtualization. Our dynamic team is comprised top-tiered engineers and motivated junior engineers interested in learning and growing their skills in a constantly evolving, growing market. You will work with a fast-paced sqa team responsible for delivering the server management BMC, BIOS, utilities, storage and related functionality of the unified computing system.

What you'll do

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work in some of the latest technologies and trends in server and storage areas as part the UCS validation team at cisco, Bangalore. We are looking for applicant who can validate the cisco c-series and s-series rack BMC. Hands on experience in BMC validation and product performance information and other means to gauge customer usage to the product development teams. Review customer found defects and work with tac and blocking issues to recreate the defects. Design and validate customer use cases. Debugging and solving issues and performing first-level issue triage. Study industry specifications, vendor's hardware documentation and design test cases. Implement tests, track and log issues and drive them till resolution with verification of bug fixes. Automation of manual testcases and execution of automated tests as part of regression cycle. Review prd, sfs, test plans, user guides and release notes. Initiate and participate in organizational efforts to improve overall group efficiency and test efficiency. Chip into overall test strategies. Participate in innovative software test initiatives. You will also be part of a dedicated team and open communications, empowerment, collaboration partnership and customer success are the foundations of the team. You will work closely with multi-functional leads like product managers and engineering leads from other groups. You will help identify efficient solutions to meet the product strategy. You'll be hands on yourself, while you guide others in building the solutions.

Who you are

  • Hands-on experience in the validation of server BMC.
  • Sound knowledge in CPU/memory/PCI subsystems.
  • Strong understanding of Intel/AMD server platforms, nvme and gpus.
  • Good expertise in system architecture and operating systems concepts.
  • Proven understanding of third-party adopters and configuration utilities.
  • Hands-on experience with VMware, Linux and windows OSs
  • Proficient in automation scripting. Experience in scripting languages like Tcl, expect, python preferred.

  • Should be able to handle multiple tasks and work independently with minimal managerial guidance.

Our minimum qualification for this role

  • You own bachelors in a technical field (CS/EE preferred)
  • 6+ years of experience in validation of Intel /AMD server platform and server mgmt. Software

Our preferred qualification for this role:

  • High level of understanding in server compute architecture.
  • Experience with enterprise system test like CPU performance test, storage performance and integrity testing, failover and redundancy tests, full load and stress testing, network performance testing

U.S. employees have access to quality medical, dental and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with a Cisco matching contribution, short and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance and numerous wellbeing offerings. Employees receive up to twelve paid holidays per calendar year, which includes one floating holiday, plus a day off for their birthday. Employees accrue up to 20 days of Paid Time Off (PTO) each year and have access to paid time away to deal with critical or emergency issues without tapping into their PTO. Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco typically pays as follows:

.75% of incentive target for each 1% of revenue attainment up to 50% of quota;

1.5% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 50% and 75%;

1% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 75% and 100%; and once performance exceeds 100% attainment, incentive rates are at or above 1% for each 1% of attainment with no cap on incentive compensation.

For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
