Slido is quickly growing. The need to have a reliable, scalable continuous integration infrastructure is needed for Slido to continue to deliver high-quality applications to hundreds of thousands of users around the world. Slido counts on our IT Operations team to provide excellent availability, scalability and security for our infrastructure.

The strongest candidates will have both hands-on Linux / Server Management expertise and experience architecting in the Cloud. They will have a fair experience in event-driven architectures and will not be afraid to get their hands dirty with Python.

The successful candidate will be expected to interact with the technology leadership team and drive architectural decisions. You'll have the opportunity to learn, grow and help others along their journey as well.

What will your job be like?

Collaborative Development: You will work closely with one or more engineering teams to empower them to deliver new features and components, and to help them embed the Ops perspective early into the development process.

Enhancing Application Performance: You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the availability, scalability, and optimal performance of our customer-facing applications.

Infrastructure Tuning: You will be responsible for testing and fine-tuning network and cloud infrastructure configurations to enhance availability and performance.

Network and Application Optimization: You’ll proactively diagnose and repair network and application bottlenecks.

Monitoring and Diagnostic Leading: You will deploy and lead monitoring, diagnostic and logging tools

Systems Documentation and Automation: Your work will include crafting and documenting systems, as well as writing and reviewing code, automating problems within your team’s domain, and helping improve the team’s CI/CD processes.

Production Support: You will participate in Tier-1 production support for internal systems in case of an outage or an incident.

Are we a match?

Cloud Architecture Proficiency: You should be comfortable with cloud architecture, preferably within AWS.

Event Drive Architecture: You feel comfortable with designing advanced event-driven concepts and you had your hands on a few Kafka-like setups before.

Scripting Skills: Proficiency in scripting languages, such as bash or Python, is essential. Orchestration of (not only) data pipelines is done in Python, so you should be comfortable updating parts of it.

Robust DevOps Tooling: Your DevOps tooling experience is strong, including CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code (preferably Terraform).

Strong Fundamentals: Possess a strong knowledge of UNIX fundamentals and a comprehensive understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP and HTTP/S.

Monitoring Expertise: You have demonstrated experience with monitoring systems.

Containerization Passion: You're passionate about Kubernetes, Docker or other containerization technologies.

Adaptability: You're up for the challenge to gracefully react to high-priority requirements with little or no notice, providing clear documentation and follow-through.

Reliability and Trustworthiness: You're known for excellent reliability, dependability, and trustworthiness.

DevOps and SRE Principles: You should have a firm understanding of DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles.

Message to applicants applying to work in the U.S. and/or Canada:

When available, the salary range posted for this position reflects the projected hiring range for new hire, full-time salaries in U.S. and/or Canada locations, not including equity or benefits. For non-sales roles the hiring ranges reflect base salary only; employees are also eligible to receive annual bonuses. Hiring ranges for sales positions include base and incentive compensation target. Individual pay is determined by the candidate's hiring location and additional factors, including but not limited to skillset, experience, and relevant education, certifications, or training. Applicants may not be eligible for the full salary range based on their U.S. or Canada hiring location. The recruiter can share more details about compensation for the role in your location during the hiring process.

U.S. employees have access to quality medical, dental and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with a Cisco matching contribution, short and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance and numerous wellbeing offerings. Employees receive up to twelve paid holidays per calendar year, which includes one floating holiday, plus a day off for their birthday. Employees accrue up to 20 days of Paid Time Off (PTO) each year and have access to paid time away to deal with critical or emergency issues without tapping into their PTO. We offer additional paid time to volunteer and give back to the community. Employees are also able to purchase company stock through our Employee Stock Purchase Program.

Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco typically pays as follows:

.75% of incentive target for each 1% of revenue attainment up to 50% of quota;

1.5% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 50% and 75%;

1% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 75% and 100%; and once performance exceeds 100% attainment, incentive rates are at or above 1% for each 1% of attainment with no cap on incentive compensation.

For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
