This role shapes Ciena’s future workforce by leading the strategy and delivery of global Early in Careers programs that attract, engage, and retain emerging talent. The position plays a critical role in building sustainable talent pipelines aligned to business and workforce plans. This role requires working on site at Ciena’s Ottawa office three days per week.
How you will make an impact:
Design and execute global Early in Careers recruitment strategies spanning campus hiring, internships, and rotational programs
Lead, develop, and coach the Early in Careers recruitment team across on site and remote environments
Own and execute the global Early in Careers strategy to support Ciena’s growth, including sustainable plans for new and existing regions
Deliver end to end early career recruitment from sourcing through onboarding
Establish and maintain partnerships with universities, colleges, and academic institutions
Lead employer branding and candidate marketing initiatives targeting early career audiences
Build partnerships with business leaders and HR stakeholders to align early career hiring plans with organizational priorities
The must haves:
Experience: Demonstrated background in early in careers recruiting, including campus recruiting, internship programs, and rotational programs
Experience: 5+ years of experience managing on site and remote teams of at least four recruiters
Utilization of Applicant Tracking Systems in high volume early career recruitment environments
Application of candidate sourcing, screening, and interview methodologies
Execution of employer branding and candidate marketing initiatives
Use of LinkedIn Recruiting and digital recruitment platforms
Application of workforce planning concepts within early in careers talent acquisition
Delivery of business leadership and strategic guidance in talent acquisition contexts
Application of internet research and market intelligence to monitor early career recruitment trends and competitive activity
Delivery of communications to candidates, academic partners, and internal stakeholders
Focus on candidate relationship management and early career retention practices
Pay Range:
Pay range for this position, in Canada, is:
$118,100.00 - $188,700.00

Non-Sales employees may be eligible for a discretionary incentive bonus, while Sales employees may be eligible for a sales commission.
