How You Will Contribute:
Optimize and automate existing test stations, documenting best practices and driving efficiency.
Provide technical insights for test instrument selection and station design.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product yields, reduce test times, and lower costs.
Develop fault isolation and troubleshooting tools for engineers and operators.
Support production scaling, qualification activities, and ensure seamless manufacturing processes.
Conduct failure analysis, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to deliver product excellence.
Collaborate globally with contract manufacturing partners to test prototypes, pre-production, and production runs.
The Must Haves:
Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Electronics/Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science.
Experience with test instruments such as VOA, Optical Power Meter, OSA, Polarization Controller, and PNA.
Expertise in databases, data analysis tools, and MATLAB (experience in C# and/or Python is an asset).
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with fluency in English
Nice to Haves:
Prior optical test experience, with fiber optics preferred.
Technical understanding of InP and SiPhot optical components testing and manufacturing processes.
Willingness to travel to Asia for global collaboration.
Pay Range:
This is a junior role and the salary range for this role in Canada is
$74, 300 - $99, 000
Pay ranges at Ciena are designed to accommodate variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and locations, reflecting our diverse products, industries, and lines of business. Non-Sales employees may be eligible for a discretionary incentive bonus, while Sales employees may be eligible for a sales commission.
