What you’ll be doing
The Senior Director, Brand Marketing leads the strategy, development, and execution of CIBC’s brand marketing initiatives. This role is accountable for mass brand advertising, owned channels, brand ambassadors, content marketing, social media, and the governance of brand standards, ensuring a unified and impactful brand presence externally and across the enterprise. The position provides visionary leadership to the brand marketing team and acts as a key cross-functional partner driving brand awareness, consideration, and revenue growth for CIBC.

You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote. How you’ll succeed
- Strategic Leadership – Serve as the strategic expert for the direction of the CIBC brand, developing and implementing innovative strategies that drive brand growth. Assess and recommend new approaches, integrating data, insights and expertise to optimize performance and maximize marketing ROI.
- Brand Communications & Advertising – Oversee the design and delivery of best-in-class marketing communications, including mass brand campaigns, owned channels, content marketing, and creative development.
- Social Media & Content – Lead the integration of mass, social and digital content strategies, collaborating with stakeholders in public relations, community relationships, sponsorships, and business line partners.
- Brand Standards & Governance – Provide oversight and governance for the CIBC brand, ensuring all brand activities align with enterprise standards and compliance requirements.
- Team Leadership – Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of 20+ marketers, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, performance mindset, and continuous learning.
- Stakeholder & Vendor Management – Build strong relationships across the enterprise and with external partners, ensuring effective collaboration and that all vendor relationships meet contractual and governance obligations.
Who you are
- You can demonstrate 10+ years of experience in Marketing Communications and/or advertising delivering strong creative and innovative marketing programs.
- Demonstrated leadership in mass advertising, social media and digital content strategies, as well as experience with brand governance. Advanced knowledge of digital marketing is preferred.
- Proven ability to coach and develop diverse teams.
- Strong relationship management skills, with the ability to influence and inspire outcomes across a wide range of partners and senior leaders.
- A passion for innovation and the drive to proactively challenge the status quo and to deliver a modernized, performance driven, marketing function.
