What You’ll Be Doing

You'll be joining the Virtual Network Engineering team within CIBC’s Cloud Engineering and Transformation group as a Senior Network Infrastructure Engineer. In this role, you'll design, implement, and manage advanced networking and security solutions across private and hybrid cloud environments. Your hands-on expertise with VMware NSX, Avi Networks (NSX Advanced Load Balancer), and VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) will be essential as you architect, deploy, and maintain scalable, secure, and highly available cloud network platforms. You'll collaborate closely with infrastructure, security, and application teams to deliver innovative solutions, develop automation scripts for network provisioning, and ensure operational excellence. Staying current with industry trends and emerging technologies, you'll document designs, procedures, and operational guidelines to support ongoing transformation and best practices.

How You’ll Succeed

  • Cloud Network Architecture: Design, deploy, and manage VMware NSX environments for micro-segmentation, network virtualization, and security policy enforcement. Architect and support VMware Cloud Foundation platforms for private and hybrid cloud deployments.
    Application Delivery & Automation: Implement and maintain Avi Networks/NSX Advanced Load Balancer solutions, including application delivery, load balancing, and automation. Develop and maintain automation scripts and templates for network provisioning and configuration management.

  • Technological Knowledge: Leverage your deep technical expertise in network engineering, particularly with NSX and/or AVI, to plan, design, and troubleshoot virtual network environments. Lead technical initiatives and resolve complex issues as they arise.

Who You Are

  • You can demonstrate with 8+ years experience in network engineering and at least 2 years working with VMware NSX. You’re skilled in cloud networking. You have hands-on experience with Avi Networks/VMware NSX Advanced Load Balancer and proven expertise architecting and operating VMware Cloud Foundation environments. You’re proficient with automation tools such as PowerCLI, Ansible and possess strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for complex network and application delivery issues. It is an asset if you have experience with network security, Firewalls and VPN, and routers and switches (Cisco), and knowledge of network Analytical tools (VMware Operations for Networking, VMware Operations for Logs, SSPI, Netbrain). Your advanced knowledge of protocols and technologies such as BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, VXLAN, WAN technologies (MPLS/IPVPN/SDWAN), IPAM, DNS/DHCP (Infoblox), NTP, TCP, UDP.
