What you'll be doing
As a Senior Business Analyst on the Capital Markets Risk Management (CMRM) team, you'll assist the Director, Market Risk Solutions by providing subject matter expertise in developing robust and sustainable solutions for market risk capture within our market risk systems. You'll build and maintain strong working relationships across a matrix organization, collaborating closely with both CMRM groups (Trade Floor Risk Managers, Data, Governance, Reporting, Quantitative Solutions) and non-CMRM stakeholders (Risk Technology, Front Office and FO Technology, Model Vetting, Finance, Audit). Your expertise will help ensure our market risk processes are methodologically sound and operationally efficient, supporting the ongoing evolution of risk measurement at CIBC. You'll play a key role in driving projects forward, engaging stakeholders, and contributing to the strategic direction of market risk initiatives.
At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.
How you'll succeed
Develop and apply domain expertise - Leverage your quantitative background and knowledge of Capital Markets products, pricing principles, market risk metrics, models (including sensitivities, Value at Risk (VaR), stress testing, backtesting), regulations, and regulatory capital calculations such as Fundamental Review of the Trading Book (FRTB) and Basel III Credit Valuation Adjustment (CVA). Stay curious and committed to expanding your expertise as market risk measurement evolves.
Conduct business analysis - Identify and engage relevant stakeholders for market risk initiatives. Perform thorough analysis, document current and future states, propose solutions, build consensus, contribute to business process definition, plan and execute testing, and present results to stakeholders.
Deliver projects effectively - Manage a portfolio of Market Risk projects and change requests, proactively addressing technical and business challenges. Collaborate with stakeholders within and outside of CMRM to ensure timely testing, sign-off, and delivery within Agile and Waterfall project frameworks.
