What you'll be doing

You will be joining the Cybersecurity, Third Party and Resilience Technology team at CIBC. As a Azure Data Engineer within the Data Security Engineering team, you will play a key role in data discovery domain. You will work independently or lead a small group and collaborate with other team members, service business partners, application operations teams, and vendor partners on solutioning, guidance, development, implementation, troubleshooting, support, and remediation.

At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 5 days per month on-site, while other days will be remote.

How you'll succeed

  • Development and integration - Participate in and conduct technical design, development, unit testing and integration of cross-functional, multi-platform application systems for the major features. Ensure adherence to all regulatory and information security standards and policies in all aspects of application management. Provide a technical runbook outlining the business implications of consumer onboarding projects.

  • Troubleshooting and production support - You understand that effective production support helps build long-term relationships and demonstrates a commitment to client care. You will participate in project, production issue troubleshooting and on-call rotation, applying solutions as needed and collaborating with multiple external teams to address business and client-impact issues.

  • Communication - You understand that communication is key to delivering strong results. You will participate in multiple meetings, listen actively and provide your insights - preferably supported by high-level diagrams - throughout all stages from solutioning to delivery.

  • Team collaboration - You are dedicated to collaborating closely with vendor, data source owners, Information Security business partners and other project partners to achieve shared goals.

  • Ownership to grow and deep-dive - You are motivated by challenges and take initiative to explore emerging technologies and innovative solutions. You will develop expertise in the core functions of the vendor product, various data discovery and integration patterns.

  • Programming Ability - Perform and coordinate complex application programming activities: develop specifications, code, configuration, test, debug, document, and automate via DevOps CI/CD in order to ensure successful implementation and maintenance of programs.

Who you are

  • You can demonstrate knowledge in: 4-6 years of hands-on IT experience. Strong knowledge in Azure, Kubernetes and Linux and shell scripting. Familiarity with DevOps practices, including GitHub, Github Actions, CI/CD pipelines, Jenkins and Artifactory. Additional assets: Experience with Python, ServiceNow, HashiCorp tools, authentication and authorization, multi-factor authentication (MFA) and single sign-on (SSO)
